Imagine Friday 6pm starts. I still cannot believe they have done it or why fox would push for it when 6pm is dominated by news programming. no viewers and no attendees

If people watch the 6pm game on fox they will stay to watch the later game.

6pm on a Friday night would only work for TV and even then it wouldn't rate as good as the others. Most people I know work till 5.30, 6 or even 7pm on a Friday night. Crowds will be a lot worse, unless the Warriors play Friday night matches which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Yeah nobody is mentioning it outside this forums far as I an see. But when the draw is released there will be an explosion of rage from fans. it will easily generated the most wringing and headlines early next year, albeit wringing that is completely justified

Both Fairfax and News will have a field day, I still have a tiny glimmer of hope they might realise how ridiculous (both NRL and Fox) the time-slot is and give us another slot.
Hopefully they can rotate that slot throughout the year so for 18 rounds (without byes) they should have 2 friday 6pm NZW friday games
1 game in Perth with a 9:30pm est start
2 qld daylight saving saturday night games at 9 or 9:30pm
4 NZW Sunday 12:00pm est
1 or 2 Australian 12:00pm starts
the rest on a sunday night
Of course ideally it would be good to have the extra game moved to sunday afternoon either at a 12:00pm or 2:00pm start. but the tv networks would never allow it.

I've heard the last couple weeks commentators mention the end of MNF but never any mention of the upcoming 6PM Friday game. I've spoke to people who watch a lot of footy and a lot are unaware of the 6PM game concept.

I actually think it will be such a diabolical failure they may even scrap it mid-season. Most people won't be able to get home in time to watch on the box let alone make to the ground.

I've heard the last couple weeks commentators mention the end of MNF but never any mention of the upcoming 6PM Friday game. I've spoke to people who watch a lot of footy and a lot are unaware of the 6PM game concept.

I actually think it will be such a diabolical failure they may even scrap it mid-season. Most people won't be able to get home in time to watch on the box let alone make to the ground.

I don't understand the thinking from foxtel , I guess they're thinking they get an exclusive game so who ever is about will tune in , even.If it's after halftime , & stay with them for the 2nd simulcast game also on 9

Personally I doubt I will ever see a first half of 6pm games. Maybe the last 15mins at most. People are not going to break work and personal routines for this game, it's just ridiculous

Surely they have proved this year their superior coverage bleeds 9 and exclusive games are not a big deal for ratings. They should of just let 9 have a Saturday night game, they will not lose any Fox subscribers because of it, the game would grow and more RL fans down the line = more Foxtel subscribers.

Well we've had sht crowds for years due to Monday nights and done nothing except swap it for an equally sht Thursday night. Only way it will get changed is if tv demands it due to low viewers numbers.
