Even if not the case knowing Melbourne and the lack of AFL opposition I would expect a few thou walk up attendees

Things looking good, according to the Herald Sun only single tickets left.
Regardless of which side wins, hope it is one hell of an open exciting game.To show the fumble ball fans what we all know ,it rocks our booties.

I know" it never rains in California" ,we should play NRL games there.

In all seriousness, with all the constant rain on Friday ,the fact it was live on FTA and Foxtel, and the lack of cover at and expanse of ANZ ,I thought they would be lucky to crack 10,000.14,700 on that basis whilst not brilliant, is reasonable given those factors.

Lack of cover? There would be about 50k seats under cover at ANZ! Two biggest clubs in Sydney at their home grounds, yeh 14k is reasonable.

Looking forward to the Melbourne game, a full modern mid sized stadium, that's what NRL should be.

And you know where the bulk of the undercover seats are ? Try nosebleed sections.I honestly don't believe you venture outside your study.

Considering the terrible conditions all day ,(which you have conveniently used in the past for NRL games at NIB Perth0 for explaining a poor turnout, it was reasonable crowd.I am hardly jumping up and down with excitement for the crowd.
Souths with no chance for the semis and The Dogs playing like busteds(which they continued to do last night).Hardly box office material.
But keep up the whining,at least it's consistent.

Well said Taipan, Perth Red sits on the other side of the country and tries to bag a Sydney crowd when it rained from sun up to sun down costing atleast 10k supporters.

Melbourne JUST posted that the match tonight is a sell out

Long over due for the Storm to get a sell-out crowd, to think it took a minor premiership on the line and no AFL to get it. It's fantastic and hopefully the Storm should be aiming to get 20k+ average next year considering how successful they have been for a long-time it should pay dividends for once. The Lions/Reds once they were successful easily translated to big crowds yet the Storm had all that success and couldn't really translate to only recently.

It's something the Storm/NRL need to look into by improving there presence in the Melbourne market, the other codes up in QLD get pretty good coverage compared to the Storm no matter there position on the ladder.

Abc radio reporting 24,000 for nq v gc.
Also reported the official sell out in Melbourne that others have already mentioned. Awesome effort.
The thing I'm most pleased about is that it takes a little bit if the wind out of the sails of the afl before the Sydney final next week.
