I couldn't tell you what they sold. If I could, then I would be telling you a brand to avoid. Not all publicity is good publicity
I agree with this.
I can't tell you the number of times over the years where I've seen an irritating ad on tv, one of those ones that gets a fair bit of air time for a few weeks or so, and I've intentionally avoided that company / product because of it.
The yearly one I can name is that Ikea ad. "Start the car".
I don't care if I need a table right there and then and theirs is the best price by a country mile, I will not go there during that sale ... all thanks to that ad.
I think there was another one a couple of years ago for $1 large sized frozen Cokes or sundaes or something like that from either HJ's or Maccas. The tv / radio ads annoyed me, so I brushed 'em.
In regards to NRL jerseys, I know the companies pay the money to be noticed. I know they don't actually care how it makes the jerseys look (so long as people see their logo / name). I know companies utilise colours that make them stand out, and therefore don't always suit the colours of the teams' jerseys they are on (which, see the point above, makes them stand out and be noticeable even more).
However.
Using this CoCoJoy mob and Manly as an example, on the dark maroon background that is the Manly jersey, the simple white writing of CoCoJoy will stand out regardless, will look a hell of a lot better than the lime green logo does now, and will integrate so much better. Their name will be the one people get to know, and people will see their lime green logo on the advertising signs at Brooky, will be on the Manly website / social media and still know it's them.
Another example is the NSW Origin jersey (green seems to be getting a bit of a kick in the guts from me tonight, but these are just a couple of the more obvious examples for me).
Don't get me started on the VB logos! I will instead focus on the green and white NIB logos on the sleeves. The NSW jersey does not look good with big patches of green on it (sleeves + the front and back VB logos). I think the NIB sleeve sponsorship logos would look SO much better as being just the white NIB lettering. No green squares behind them. As mentioned before, I know companies are using colours to get people associating with them more and more these days, but there are ways around it.
Probably 15 years ago or so while NBN was still the Newcastle sleeve sponsor, NIB had a logo on the Knights shorts. The Knights shorts are blue. The NIB logo was just white text on the blue shorts. Looked great.
IF they absolutely insist that green must be a part of their NSW Origin jersey advertising, they could have the white NIB lettering with a thinnish green outline.
I know it's all just wishful thinking on my part (and many of us too!), but it's nice to dream..!
