Both should have copped a week, if all things were consistent.
That's fair, but it's even more mind boggling that Wighton got a grade 2 charge while Ennis gets nothing. Ennis shoulder charged a bloke that wasn't even carrying the ball. I could at least understand if Ennis got a grade 1 as Wighton's hit on Edwards looked a lot harder, but to get nothing is just a load of horseshit.

But it wasn't a shoulder charge. His arms were up. What would you like him charged for?
They were not up

I have posted a pic where is clearly shows his right arm tucked at the point of contact .

I even circled it for you .

Now
If Gallen had put that shot on any raiders player would you still claim it as not a shoulder charge?

His arms are away from the body. His other arm is wrapping around Edwards, meaning he doesn't fit the second criteria either.

Given it wasn't a shoulder charge, what would you have him charged for?

Just shows how dumb their criteria is about the tucked in arm. I think it was clearly a shoulder charge but 4 weeks is ridiculous, while Ennis gets 0.

Oh cmon
If you think he managed to keep his arm away from his own body when contact was made then I root scarlet johanssen .

Would it be so bad if they just admitted they were wrong for whatever reason about the decision not to charge Ennis?

They save face immediately and end the whole debacle right then and there.

It's either that or they both get off.

Wighton has been found guilty of prior offences so give him 3 weeks for being a dumb arse.

I doubt he totally gets off.

Down grade at best.

Either way he won't be there on Saturday so Croker should stop crying and start preparing for the Semi.

They aren't wrong.

They have explained why they aren't wrong.

The MRC have got it totally right I applaud them.

You do realise we get possession back at the end of a try right? 9 tries tends to get you a lot of possession.

PS - The Tigers won the penalty count 11-6. There were numerous times the referee just blew a penalty and didn't have a reason for it, was quite humorous.

My guess would be mercy.

They did get a few home crowd calls but nothing outside the norm. We tend to win penalty counts because we are so difficult to tackle.

I dont think it's a conspiracy. The nrl just sucks and they should try not to suck as much.

The dumb merkins at Helen Lovejoy central only have themselves to blame for their embarrassing rule. The fact their incompetent match review committee can't even consistently enforce this stupid rule just makes the whole situation even more farcical than it already was, which barely seems possible. Where's the circle now?

Actually the furore this has created has everything to do with Ennis.
No it doesn't
There are blokes that get away with shit while others get charged every single week.
Yet it's all about Ennis?

It is astounding to think that people think the NRL is playing favourites for the Sharks....and especially Ennis.
He gets reffed ten times harsher than any merkin in the game.
