NRL 360 just conclusively proved Wighton's wasn't a shoulder charge. At the point of contact, Wighton's arm was away from his body.

Thinking about it the insanity of a grade 1 shoulder charge attracting a 200 point base charge is why there is so much inconsistency. The MRC rightfully doesnt want to rub guys out for nothing tackles.

The solutions is to adjust the loading. Should be under 100 points imo.

Just seen them justifying it on 9 news apparently Ennis had separation between arm and body Wighton did not. Footage shows Ennis hit first with the shoulder and wighton first contact with his arm. Not sure if it's the rule or interpretation but something is very wrong, should first high contact is dangerous regardless the position of the arm

What is more stupid though is why on earth was he on the field in the 70th minute when you are flogging a side! Surely any coach with a brain would have pulled his star players with 25 mins to go

I used the base charge locky. The base charge of a grade 2 shoulder charge is 350 points.

There is no way in hell the base charge on that tackle should be 3 weeks.
