I don't get it. How can someone commit the same offence three times in just over a year and not get suspended?

Grade 1 plus 100% loading is 150 points, even with a 25% discount for an early plea it should be 113 points. Am I missing something here?

Only that rugby league is an effing joke on so many levels.

Yes, the loading was only 50%, not 100%. It's last two seasons (i.e. this and last), not last two years.
He got one tripping charge last year, the other one was in 2014 from memory.

If you can point out to me where they've erred and that he was charged with tripping twice last year be my guest.

(for what it's worth I'm stunned it wasn't grade two)

I always thought it was last 2 years. The media seemed to think so as well given everything I read yesterday before the charges came out mentioned he had two priors to take into account.

How does Reynolds not get suspended, but Frizzel does?
There is something very wrong with the process if those are the outcomes from those two cases.

They're not fair dinkum about suspending Frizzel are they?

They've lost the plot completely if he gets charged.
Got up off the ground and doubt he even knew who he brushed pass.

The question needs to be asked, how do Bulldogs players seem to be treated differently to most other clubs

Even when they go to the Review committee , there seems to be a significant chance of the sentence reduced or dismissed

Does Greenturds position influence sub consciously or conciously influence outcomes, it can't all be coincedence. I understand Timmah will issue tin foil hats if you raise this question, but it's too obvious to ignore

How can anyone say with a straight face that Reynolds has not been protected for years? The bloke has tripped multiple guys, grabbed nuts, speared blokes on their heads, and missed maybe 3 weeks all up for that entire list.

Guys have been chased out of the league with far less of a wrap sheet than what lord grub has

Protected?

That would imply he gets away with things. He's almost always charged, even if it's a low grade.

NRL MATCH REVIEW: Round 21
LeagueUnlimited Media | July 31 2016 7:44PM

Three players were charged from Friday night's clash between Canterbury and St. George Illawarra.

Friday | Bulldogs v Dragons

Dragons duo Tyson Frizell and Joel Thompson are each facing a week on the sidelines after picking up charges from Friday night's loss to Canterbury. Frizell is looking at a week for contact with referee Chris James in the fourth minute, which carries 125 points base penalty. He has 20% loading which sees the early plea rise to 112 points. Whether he fights unsuccessfully or takes the plea, he's set to miss a week.

Thompson's charge is a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Josh Jackson in the 50th minute - with 3 similar prior offences in the last two seasons, the 75 point base penalty attracks 150% loading to reach 187 points - add 29 points and a guilty finding if contested at judiciary would see Thompson get 2 weeks on the sidelines. An early plea (140 points) is just one week for Thompson.

Canterbury's Josh Reynolds meanwhile escapes suspension despite one prior similar offence attracting 50% loading. The base penalty of 75 for a Grade 1 Trip increases to 112 if Reynolds is found guilty at judiciary, but an early plea would see him miss no game time (84 points).

There were no charges from matches played on Thursday or Saturday.

Agree RE: Frizell. How he gets cited but Lyon only gets a concerning act notice is beyond me.

And Reynolds doesn't "get away with things", he gets punished. Low grade punishments are still punishments (and will no doubt cost him with carryovers & loading in the coming weeks/next season)

the frizell charge is a joke. ref shouldn't be that close to players if they're worried about that sort of contact. fritz was only being polite so he didn't run into him as he was going past after a breakdown in play.

a ref got wacked worse(actual body contact)in the pennies/warriors game(after one of the trys, can't remember exactly) and not a thing was mentioned.

It implies he gets away with very serious offences constantly with little more than a slap on the wrist for his troubles. You can't deny that

He does get away with things. He just got away with a trip in this last game. He's a serial offender and they do nothing about it.

Sure he has been punished before. But even on the rare occassion he is punished it's a slap on the wrist compared to other players.

It's not limited to just him. But he's definitely on the protected species list. A token punishment occassionally doesn't mean much. If he commits 5 offences in a game he cops a sap on the wrist for one and gets away with the rest. Bit like Billy Slater and Cameron Smith over the years.

It's just embarrassing at this point. The people making the decisions have no clue. None. Between this and the laughable decision in the bunker that they're trying to support with straight face it's comical.

The ref touches Frizell first so he needs to be sat down a week too by their trash logic.
