That they are.
He actually said himself he's at least 4 years away from playing grade, so plenty of time to see him in u'20s. No need to rush the kid

Zane didn't take that long to make it into the first grade side maybe two years and he will be ready.

yeah it's not good to rush players into first grade too early because if their bodies are not ready for it, it increases the chance of injury, although he is pretty big. i think he could be in first grade in a couple of years, as long as he puts in the hard work and as long as he is mentally ready. if he gets a nathan brown angry mentality where he tackles hard and runs the ball hard, i don't think he'll have a problem

5. Oldfield
6. Keary
7. Reynolds
8. George Burgess
9. McInnes
10. Brown
11. Carter
12. Sutton
13. Sam Burgess

14. Cook
15. Clark
16. Tom Burgess
17. Grevsmuhl

Sounds pretty good as Goodwin is there:)

For the trial this week Brown is 21st man so he only just made the squad. He has to lift this weekend.

Turner is in the back row and I expect Madge to keep him there.

Round 1 side Madge could pick: (I think Grevs will play with Norths to get match fitness up)

1. GI (C)
2. AJ
3. Goodwin
4. Auva'a
5. Oldfield
6. Cody
7. Reynolds
8. T. Burgess
9. McInnes
10. Clark
11. Turner
12. Sutton
13. S. Burgess

14. Cook
15. Tyrrell
16. Carter
17. Musgrove

18. Brown
19. Hunt/A. Gray

I've got this strange feeling that Oldfield might not be in the side for round one and Hunt will be in the backline

Maybe yeah. I think you're onto something.

Goodwin will be there though. You'll see. Madge may move Bryson to the wing.

Or he may give Hymel time on the wing this weekend so he can play there round 1.

I think Oldfield would be better under the high ball.

Really conflicted with the backline of ours.

GI and AJ are the only definites.

Goodwin and Auva'a are probables.

Hunt, Oldfield, Olive and Gray are the ones who will really have to fight it out.

I really like the look of the first two in the Charity Shield, while the latter didn't do much.

I'd like to see something like;

1. Inglis
2. Johnston
3. Goodwin/Hunt
4. Auva'a/Hunt
5. Hunt/Oldfield

Well Madge hasn't broken up the combo of Olive & Hunt maybe thats the way of the future for our backline?

True that. I'm really liking the size they provide. Will be good for kick returns and hit ups from dummy half, not to mention defensively in group tackles dragging players into touch. Only thing I worry about Olive is him under the high ball and his involvements.

and oldfield is playing for the bears this weekend, so i guess that means he probably won't be in 1st grade round 1

Well Madge has some good options so I don't think Goodwin is locked in yet.
