2016 who do we keep

It was a mistake to release Taylor unless it allows us to get someone we can use this year.

We just strengthened one of our opponents and will now have to play against them with him in the team. Imagine if we lost to Tigers in another tight game and Elijah Taylor makes 50 odd tackles with a few try savers in there.

Our club do not f+ck people around. Very proud. Elijah Taylor deserved better, and he's got that chance. Anthony Griffin didn't rate him, rightly or wrongly, time will tell.

I viewed Taylor as a Panthers captain so there you go. Before he even signed...

If Merrin hadnt signed and Cleary left Id say he would have been captain. Seemed a great bloke and worked his ass off for our team. Thanks for the service ET, best of luck at the Tigs. They would do well to extend him and install him captain. Wasn't to be with us though.

That's not entirely true. When we want players gone we f**k them around until they want to leave also. We got rid of guys like Grant, Jennings, Lewis etc. by making them feel unwanted and 'allowing' them to leave... when we didn't want them in the first place.

Add Elijah Taylor to that list. Although his circumstances are different. He just didn't get along with the coach and that relationship wasn't likely to improve. Jennings and Grant etc. Were on ridiculous overs and we just didn't want to honour those contracts as it delayed the 5 year plan.

I watched a replay of the game today and Latimore was very strong when he came on, he had some really good runs you can see these guys are competing for a spot.

He dropped the ball first touch, but it seemed to spark him up. That's the strongest he's carried the ball since he's been with us.

Yeah I didn't want to hold the knock on against him as pretty much everyone dropped it in that 2nd half!

They were hauled into Gus's office and told what the situation was. They weren't f*cked around, they were told the honest truth. Naturally their attitude changed after being told that they were on overs, anybody would.

Luke Lewis was so out out of whack with reality that he thought we had a squad of players that could win the Premiership the year before. That is why you don't let a 'leadership group' run the club, and they clearly were.

Last year with ET playing 20 of the 24 games, we conceded 19.88 per game.

This year without ET we have conceded 19.89 per game. It's a difference of 1/100 of a point per game without him (actually less but thats to 2 decimal places).

We get ran through the middle, constantly, which didn't happen with a fit team under a different coach and ET locking.

Exactly.. also in that raiders match Isaah Yeo got ran through the middle and gave up a try.. he is to small for the forwards..

He was playing like shit in NSW Cup.

Sorry but it's true. His form didn't demand selection.

We had been shopping him arpund trying to get rid of him. He still lead the tackle counts for us despite being dropped and shopped around. The whole team looks shit. It's horribly coached.

He did nothing wrong when he played first grade for us. He linked well with TMM in his debut. Setup the try that levelled the game for us. Only to never be seen again.

If Ivan was still coach then ET would most probably still be our starting lock. But you have to respect our new coach and he has different ideas and at the end of the day ET was not his first choice lock and indeed ultimately did not figure in his plans overall. Again credit to the club in allowing him an early release to pursue better opportunities elsewhere.

There will obviously be others from those off contract who are going to have to pursue opportunities elsewhere that is just the way it is. Time will tell who get's retained and who get's released but as far as ET goes good luck to him I wish him well at his new club.

Merrin is playing better than ET ever did. Griffin has nailed team selections so far

Merrin could have lined up with an 8 or 10 on his back to suit how he plays anyway and we could have dropped the weakest link in the front row and plugged the holes in our middle.

Tackle bot who covered a wide middle and didn't get beaten laterally, with support play and a pass. For a hit up bot who is dead average at hitting it up and misses tackles at a higher rate than Cartwright, and is absolutely no danger of doing anything else, ever. That was our trade.
