No-one should really blow their load about anything when it comes to the nines. No team can play themselves in or out of contention re: the NRL competition.

Having said that, reasonable effort to get to the SF. Some good commitment in defence in all games bar the SF. We missed Norman in the SF and as a result looked about as organised as a Trump administration.

Shit turn out from our friinds across the border. That will be the last 9s tournament played in NZ.

That Ponga kid is the best young player I have seen since Hayne burst on the scene in 2006.

There are some good ones.
Latrell mitchel is special, Cleary is one out of the box. That kid is made of ice. Very sepcial.Connor watson looked great.
Ponga has skill but his style shows up more in 9s.

I had to laugh when Cronk suggested that he would barely get a game this season, what a waste to let him rot in the 20's just to prove a point. They can win another comp with him this year as their x factor. Especially how Coote plodded it up at the back end of the season.

Agree, coote would of cost 450-550k. They should of threw it an Ponga

Ponga is overrated. Great step but not sure he has much else.

I think the style of footy we played this weekend for the most part was not far removed from the way BA wants us playing in the competition real. That was probably the biggest difference I saw between us and our opposition in that we tried to stay cohesive in defensive and attacked through the middle and didn't use the extra space as a reason to just throw Hail Mary passes at every opportunity, and for the most part, it worked. I think that bodes well for us moving forward.

Bigger than Auckland, but surely they aren't stupid enough to go there? Brisbane would be where the smart money is.

They have an option in the final year of the contract. I'm expecting them to come to arrangement that will see the 9s in Brisbane next year.

We should push the NRL to open the new Western Sydney Stadium with the 2019 Nines.
