2017 Crowd Watch

Utter bullshit. They must have been hiding pretty well because it was wall to wall blue and gold on the TV. It's clubs like the Tigers ripping the game off millions every year and putting nothing back in, relying on away fans and playing shit football and then still putting their hand out for more money. But we're supposed to bend down and thank them for getting one decent crowd because it was technically their home game even though it was all Parra fans and a highly publicised charity game on the back of high profile deaths of two young blokes. The rest of their crowds are thousands below the NRL average despite all the away fans.

Yeah...Parra bought 25,000+ away fans didn't they...hahaha

That's how much you're overexaggerating

I rewatched a little bit on tv and if you aren't colour blind you can see wall to wall Tigers supporters on the side the camera is aiming at . Parra definitely brought their fair share no denying, plenty behind goal posts

But keep contributing nothing but negativity :) you must be a very depressed man

West tigers/eels got potential to be 50k plus if both top 4 one day, should be a sunday afternoon fixture regularly to maximize crowd regardless of ladder position. With nrl getting the draw back derby/rivalry games should get best drawing time slots. Thursday night can alternate with the various clubs throughout the season and 6pm friday shouldn't of been assigned in the first place.

6pm friday is the anchor to growing crowds just like monday was, ideally thursday/friday 6pm was switched to Saturday/sunday. Typical nrl admin caving to tv networks as readily as they do.

No excuses Saturday night, battle between top 8 teams, no away fan excuses if the team is in top form should be enough fans to show up. If they cant show up now, when would they Cowboys got 16k against warriors so surely roosters can better that.

Forget the numbers, the Dragons don't need any more than they got in a place they should play as many games as possible . . . 16k is enough

What are you actually basing that on? Parra averaged 13k 16k and 16k in 09 05 and 01 respectively.

Roosters are averaging 18k now, 19k in 2013 and 19k in 2004 as an example
Mate, come on now.

The chooks have a small supporter base, the fact they count arms feets heads shoulders knees and toes as crowd numbers doesn't change that.

Drive through the eastern suburbs and wave to all the people in souths gear.

It isn't on FTA, not according to tvguide.com.au anyways (Back to the future 3 is on). There has been some confusion over this as when the last 6 rounds were released, some sources had R21 as the start for Saturday FTA whilst others have R22.

Fantastic rebuttal

I am not attacking Parra, just using them as an example because Dave had them at number 1 and I am purely asking what metrics are being used. If you want to use the amount of people in a given area wearing certain colours then that is fine but I think attendance is a better measurement.

Next week apparently Sharks v Raiders is the first, not this week.

I am not saying you are attacking parramatta, but come on now, to suggest your posted crowd average is a fair reflection of easts popularity is laughable.

If easts have all these fans who show up to all those home games? who are their kids playing junior rugby league for?

Obviously juniors can be like counting attendance, but lets not pretend easts is a popular club compared to other sydney clubs because they fudge crowd numbers, and have a marquee fixture.

This is some 10/10 rambling nonsense.

once the new Parra stadium is built, it will be likely that Wests will make it their main home ground with 2 or 3 games each at Lillyfield and Leumeah. Parra vs Wests games at the new arena should be close to sell-outs IMO. NRL really need to turn games into must go-to events to attend. a good start is probably shortening the season by a few rounds. another is not killing the competition for 6 to 8 weeks with State of Origin. furthermore, limiting Olympic Stadium matches to finals only. they could also look at more supporter-friendly times to schedule matches.

All in all, if Souths should try to get back to Moore Park, and Canterbury look at the new Parra stadium for the bulk of home matches, as well with 2 or 3 matches at Belmore

Roosters and Souths should pool their efforts to get a better deal out of Moore Park. There's a lot of political posturing going on out that way. Trust trying to paint a picture to the government they need a few hundred mil for an upgrade, rumours that Roosters are planning to drop down to 6 games a year there.

Roosters + Souths playing 10 games each at Moore Park under a better tenancy agreement could see the Trust improve their bargaining position with the government for an upgrade.
