So
Build new waterproof billion dollars stadiums ?
Don't take the huge money offered from the tv revenue.?
Discourage events that actually draw big crowds?
And control the weather?

You truely are a f**king dumb arse.

You've had 50 years to put some roofs on your stands
AFL don't have shtty KO times AND more money
I said have MORE dance contests, if you cant get people to go to watch RL then get them there for something else.
Good luck with that one, or make it more pleasant when the weather is sht.

Ok scoop
How does one do that

I think you'll find most clubs cannot pull that off.

Just because some don't doesn't mean they shouldn't do everything they can to achieve it. It's the successful teams at a minimum that should be driving memberships and attendances significantly to provide growth in these areas to help provide immediate short term cash flow and counteract other teams suffering from not having a successful period.

You're not going to get 45,000 new members or regular attendees but there should be a significant spike in attendances especially if you back up a premiership with a successful season which the sharks have done so far this season.

Haha
Stick your AFL up your arse for all I care.
I never ever watch it and couldn't name more than three teams.
..and my seat is under a roof
And your sarcastic mention of a " dance contest " was by no means said in a positive manner.
Bullshit all you like
We both know the truth.

It was s great idea to get people to the game and give all those kids that did dance an experience they'll never forget.
...and it wasn't a contest.

Plus the premiers got all the money from the kids parents who paid to watch them.

Great stuff

You do know we have our highest membership this year ever?

And has that converted to an increase in crowd averages? Big spike in growth there as you would like, considering a positive period you are in the midst of?

No fight picking here and there would be circumstances as to why, but as a supporter, you would expect significant growth after you win a comp especially after a long drought?

I dunno
Souths had 80 thousand or some shit march down the st
Then they win a comp
Now there is f**k all people at their games in a big flashy stadium.
Same goes for the dragons
They used to get heaps to their games
They win a comp
Now they average shit crowds

Those two are arguably the two most famous clubs In the game.

I'm sure both of those clubs would be disappointed with that perception. You are going to get your diehards but the key is getting those casuals engaged regularly enough to turn into diehards

Yeah well that is all well and good
But how do you do it?

If there was a simple answer it would already be happening.

Building expensive stadiums will only make the ticket prices more expensive.
Therefore less people would go.
Limiting the tv slots will also lose money.
lots of money.

Can only speak for what works down here and that is better facilities managed by centralising stadiums rather than spreading the pool of investment across a number of upgrades. Teams lost their spiritual home but over a relatively short period, crowd numbers increased and teams were benefiting from a greater matchday interest.

Are teams really benefitting from holding onto their spiritual homes to the detriment of growing their reach in the long term?

So 45,000 bandwagoners? The club should be milking its successful period as much as possible and converting these supporters into regular attendees to insulate against times when the team is not travelling as well.

Always bandwaggoners appear , when a club wins.Ask the Tigers circa 2005.
I guess getting a record membership and still growing that despite a stadium that is not an all seater, selling record merchandise and still flogging it, getting all sponsor boxes sold is not a bad start.
Just under half Brisbane's membership with a whole city to support and one of the best all seater stadiums going around for the NRL.
It's a lot easier to get people to spend on season tickets if they have cover and decent seating. Thus improving Sharks Park eventually will do that.I'd be concerned if the Sharks had stadium say like the Storm, and they couldn';t crack 20,000 members.

The club went through the ASADA/wooden spoon, and near closing down on 3 occasions ,so the core fans have stuck solid during the bad times. And the sharks have had their share of bad times.

You cannot compare Sydney infrastructure with the far bigger geographical spread and no direct rail links to a central stadium from all points ,with that of Melbourne. And Melbourne stadiums are oval specific for fumble ball,ANZ stadium is not rectangular another issue.

You have one team

You should be getting 50k to home games given your track record and players.

But you don't

One team only in a sports mad state.

I can see our oppositions home from Shark park.

Storm fans dont travel either
Look at the GF
They were almost non existent.

Last year I tallied up what it would cost me to go to GF. Nearly $4000 for 2 of us. But because I had been to UK for a month earlier in the year I just could`nt afford it

Kicking off each and every round with 2 made for TV slots is a horrible idea..

Fans are all pumped for the weekend, do their tips on the thursday, talk shit at work..

Then the round starts with 1 game in an empty stadium, then game 2 you miss as you are in traffic, game 3 at 7.50 on friday has to be a cracker, with great atmosphere to keep anyone interested..

You have 54 years of history to build a fan base and we have less than 20, but our crowd numbers beat yours easily and we don't rely on travelling fans to pad our numbers to a respectable number in the games heartland.

You have one team in the entire state.

You've never had to build a club.
It was just invented for you.
A fake footy club full of blokes from QLD.
With not one single opposition team within cooee.

Stick 6 more teams around the storm and let's see how popular they are.

you don't go to games and only switch over during an ad break in the AFL so why do you pretend to care?
