That's not the argument.

You want to take teams out of Sydney with no consideration to what that will actually do to crowds.

I'm not saying anything other than the fact is we have about 140k people in Sydney willing to get off their arses and go to an NRL game regularly. With 9 teams you end up with the15k avg (being optimistic) most clubs have most years.

The solution is to either increase the number of people willing to attend or reduce the clubs and try and keep as many of the 140k engaged as possible.

what goes around comes around, like one of those boguns who wins lotto, spends it all on V8's and meth and in a year or two is back in state housing. Up up Cronulla lol

How's Cronulla's crowds this year flush with all this success and optimism?

You can pretty much look straight past sydney thursday night or 6pm friday crowds.

However, Easts 2nd v NQLD 5th on a saturday night getting under 10k is fqarking garbage.

Easts fans will carry on about their average which is clearly slanted due to the away support.

Honestly, what are Easts doing playing out of sydney? Souths got pretty much the same crowd in a ten times worse stadium playing from 14th v 10th. I am not a huge souths fan but even manly or cronulla would have got better crowds then this on a nice night at home.

Easts can still play the dragons and pack out the SFS on ANZAC day otherwise send them to:-
- perth
- adelaide
- central coast
- brisbane

But honestly why bother with them in Sydney?

I think you'll find our membership is the highest it's ever been

In the meantime there's a pic I actually took of a crowd figure involving the sharks.
Its from a framed photograph above my bar.

Good times.

How's the Perth bid coming along?

Where do we find the figures for the stay-at-home crowds Thursday and Friday nights, the people who pay the big money don't care who actually goes to games . . . are ratings negating the drop in bums on seats

And the beauty of that 83,000,was about 60,000 were dressed up in Shark's gear.
So our poor club, has not only record membership getting toward 16,000 (over 15,500 now).all sponsors boxes sold, record merchandise sales and still selling,as are the development units, and 3rd on the ladder circa 2017.Club in crisis I tell ye.

I like to err on the conservative side ,never inflate what can be questioned.

So 45,000 bandwagoners? The club should be milking its successful period as much as possible and converting these supporters into regular attendees to insulate against times when the team is not travelling as well.

Brisbane?

If your comparing apples with apples then how does Broncos v WCEagles compare. Similar sized cities, most popular clubs in those cities, heartland v heartland clubs.
Or are you really comparing Lions to Broncos? Lol That's like saying Storm are terrible and a waste of time as they aren't getting anywhere near Carlton's crowds!

I'm not comparing anything.,.

You said that whichever city you compare in crowds AFL is streets ahead.,.

That is just bullshit..

Ok scoop
How does one do that

I think you'll find most clubs cannot pull that off.

Comparing oranges with oranges. AFL city v NRL city, or AFL club in NRL city v NRL club in AFL city. There is nowhere we come out on top, or even remotely close
Broncos V WCEagles
Titans v Dockers
Swans v Storm
Any Sydney club v Any Melbourne Club
Cowboys,Knights or Auckland v Adelaide

Now if we put a Perth club in the NRL it may beat the Lions!
Until the NRL gets serious about crowds then we don't have a hope of getting close.
