Brisbane - excellent
Melbourne - decent
NQ - excellent
Roosters - ok but we all know it's massively boosted by Anzac Day
Newcastle - pretty good (considering where they are)
Canberra - decent
Tigers - decent
Bulldogs - poor
Eels - poor
Titans - average
Dragons - poor
Sharks - poor
Penrith - poor
Warriors - poor
Manly - poor
Souffs - diabolical

Well teams that have been extremely poor this year and probably have reason to have shit crowds are doing surprisingly well (Tigers, Knights)

Meanwhile somewhat successful teams like Dragons, Eels, Penrith, Cronulla (wtf) are pretty poor

big hit!

still not much of a mention in the media......it's all hush-hush so their employers, and them, all keep their content.

no other major sport has sold the farm the way League did with their schedule. short-sightedness in the extreme.

what do you expect in rugby league. take the money and run. absolutely no thought for the implications a long season and individual live against the gate games at shit attendance times will do to crowds.

this mess won't be fixed overnight, believe me. they've conditioned fans to stay at home and watch games at the click of a button.

it's now very much a TV game

Draws play a massive role
A game that normally draws a big crowd on a Sunday arvo gets put on a Thursday night can have a massive impact on a teams crowd figures.

Sharks traditional biggest drawing game got put on a Sunday night this year.
Last year was a Sunday arvo.

That right there is easily the difference in that average.

That's true actually, forgot about the disaster effect Thursday/Friday would've had on games and iirc sharks have had a few.

If anyone can be bothered to do a season average MINUS Thursday/Friday 6pm and replace the missing games with that average, would be interesting to know

That's the problem with success, ch nine screw you over and dump you to Thursday nights if you're doing well!

No nrl club should be avg under 15k if we are serious. That should be the min acceptable level. The nrl should have offered a $1million bonus payment to each club that achieved this. Got to do something to motivate the merkins running the place. In fact instead of just handing money out they should have offered a base Gra t of $10mill to cover salary cap. A $1mill sliding scale pay,net for crowd size and. $1mill sliding scale payment for membership numbers. Make the clubs earn the money.

The whole stadium ,home ground, is is in such a mess.

You have Souths playing at ANZ nowhere near their area.

You have saints playing home games at other teams home grounds Anz,scg,Alliance and Kogarah and win.

Parramatta playing at ANZ (while Parra stadium is built) away from home fans..

Tigers only playing 4 games at Leichhardt.. The fans favourite..ANZ,Campbelltown.Training at Concord.

Bulldogs only 2 games at Belmore..

No wonder the fans are confused and not showing up for games. The whole set up is wrong..

And then the Nrl let broadcasters choose ridiculous time slots. It needs to be fixed soon or the game won't have any fans left at all.

Not really Perth. I just want the best atmosphere at games 12.754 at Leichhardt looks so much better than 12.7 at ANZ.. The players respond to the better atmosphere you get better games and helps the game in the long run.

I know people talk about growing the game bigger stadiums etc, etc.

But if we only get 6k to a 80k stadium surely we have to rethink the big stadium idea somewhat..

Still use ANZ just occasionally not every 2nd game.

Souths highest average attendance is at ANZ, they have been there for over 10 years ffs. If any of their fans don't know where they play home games at then they are not really fans now are they.

And where would you like Parra to play whilst there ground is getting knocked down and rebuilt?? ANZ is the closest stadium for their fans.

Bulldogs have also been playing at ANZ for well over 10 years, with recently taking 2 games which would usually draw low anyway to Belmore. As with Souths, if their fans don't realise where their home ground is they are not really fans.

Yes that is the way it is. Crowds have been like this for years. In the small grounds you smell the action. Teams feed off it. Giving the opposition a verbal massage, priceless. Still remember when i gave Gene Miles a zinger, hundreds laughed at him (he made a drop/ball mistake. HE WAS FILTHY
You see league is tough, you don't need to sit down, YOU want to STAND SHOUT DELIVER (While having a beer)

Thor I wasn't saying Parra shouldn't play at ANZ while their home ground is being built.

I was saying that a lot of the teams are playing at home grounds all over the place some with 5 home grounds.

I just was stating that Parra aren't in their normal home ground.
