Well done parra fans, putting some respect back into Sydney. Look forward to them getting a decent stadium and winning team and becoming a Sydney powerhouse, about time we got some other clubs up to the size of the broncos.

Many of the clubs are quite capable of having significant support. Its clear that the dormant support of Sydney clubs is very real. They do need to win games and show competitiveness. When its their time they do shine. Its important that the presence of these clubs is maintained for the sake of the game. Other additional clubs should be wecomed but not at the cost of this very real dormant support. Still believe North Sydney resurrected as the Central Coast Bears would add significantly to other rivalries in the Sydney Metropolitan area. This with other new clubs for Brisbane, Perth and maybe another well chosen area should see the NRL wisely have 20 clubs in the not too distant future. This should happen. We can only hope.

GWS dont have many actual supporters and travelling supporters outnumber them regularly. Crowd last night was no shock

I hope the Roosters fans actually turn up in numbers and make thier home ground a home ground

I wish roosters fans would sell out Allianz but I don't think so. Probably 35k at the absolute most

On the other hand will Melbourne move it to Etihad or leave it at aami? Aami when it's sold out is rocking, but I reckon they'd get more? Maybe 40k+

Provided the pricing of tickets follow the recent two finals weekends I think the final at the SFS will attract many casual/neutral fans. Potential of promoting a full house if the marketing people hook into this game in a positive manner.

Even if the NRL gave away 8K tickets who the f**k cares? I'm sure the AFL does to and I don't consider that a bad thing. The NRL should be doing promotions like this to attract big crowds. Let's get more bums in seats however we can. That's how it develop a culture of attending games.

Also we hear over and over again that the game makes all its money from TV deals. So why do we gauge fans so much to attend?

If the roosters game can get 35K I'd consider that a pretty big success. Obviously a sellout would be amazing but 35K would still look and sound incredible.

I'm hoping the game stays at aami. A packed out crowd at aami looks and sounds phenomenal on TV. It's also an incredible experience at the ground. What better way to advertise the game than to show people a taste of what they could be seeing if they come to storm games. It's also a great reward for the fans who come every week.

It would be good to see the attendance record broken for AAMI park! Think the Kangaroos might have claim that? Their are plenty of Brisbane ex pats in Melbourne.

It would pretty much just come down to how many show up. I doubt the attendance record goes down but a sellout would be fantastic nontheless.

Instead of giving away free tickets (or maybe in addition to) they should have $5 entry and advertise the crap out of $5 entry.

Too late to make the change from AAMI Park to Etihad Stadium now considering that Storm has been selling tickets to AAMI Park to members since Friday.

it's a prelim in 40k capacity stadium. should get close to selling out. if not, it's not Roosters fans that are f**ked, but Sydney metro rugby league fans. there once was a time when neutrals would turn up for these big finals, because it was a big game.

41,287 tonight.

Aggregate 79,910. Highest ever week two.

Also after all the AFL comparisons last week, this week the NRL drew more across the two games.

The NRL really need to push Week 1 finals to the kids.

How can 2 games week 2 outdraw 4 games in week 1?

Actually i provea that the Sydney market us so oversaturated with RL that fans obly care about the biggest games...

Bring some scarcity to Sydney and people might start carin again.

You are kidding! An amazing lack of respect for tradition, locality, rivalry and rugby league.

Because of the teams involved. Probably the least popular 4 teams in Sydney, 3 of which are pretty confined to their local areas (which isn't a bad thing).

So take teams away and create more fans? I don't think that would work.
