so the argument is now moot & Allianz is the correct venue
but it remains , we can't have the NRL locking in finals venues on a whim
leave the venue in Sydney open til the teams are decided to maximise attendances

Parra outdrew the broncos.

so a sydney side that shares the city with 9/10 other sides outdrew the solo side. Away support would have been about the same.

Imagine if Parra had the TPE's , paperbag / andrew gees (well they did for a little bit) FN exposure of the broncos, the paper and news presence of the broncos, would have filled three stadiums.

Fantastic crowd. If Parra could actually string a few successful years together you can only imagine how big their crowds would be. It would have been great to see a huge Sydney crowd next week but it was a great effort from the cowboys.

Also tonight again showed how much a big crowd can add to match even on TV. The atmosphere was just electric and sitting at home it makes you wish you were at the game. I've got no doubt that if we saw more crowds like that it would encourage more people to attend games but also to watch on TV.

Hopefully we see some big changes next year.

14,865 at the flogball next door.

Well done GWS and the AFL.

That's a pretty shit house crowd. Considering how much promotion GWS and the AFL get in Sydney along with all the free tickets I'm amazed the crowd was that low. Also most AFL clubs bring a ton of away support so a lot of that crowd wouldn't have been from Sydney anyway.

That's has to be considered a terrible result for the AFL considering how much they've poured into the club and their recent success.

Still the NRL should be taking an aggressive stance towards these clubs. The suns, lions and GWS are all struggling for a foothold and the NRL can really make life difficult for them with a bit of effort. It's about time we actually made an effort against the AFL.

So the comment it is a sellout by the Telecrap is BS.Penrith stadium can hold 18-19,000.
I don't mind soccer, what iIdo mind is the media forever portraying other codes having sellouts when they are in fact not so,and using it to bag the NRL.

There hasn't been a ticket available for two weeks.
It was a sellout.
How many tickets they sold however is another story.
