2017 Crowd Watch

Bloody woeful crowd. I have always been an optimist about our game but 2017 has been dire.
Having said that the only way that the make up of the finals could have been worse crowd wise is if the titans Swapped places with parra. Grand final could be a real embarrassment.
We need some good news soon or I fear we head for the dark days of the late 90s/early 00s where so much of the conversation about the game was negative. Hopefully the early rounds of the World Cup are as fun as I think they will be.....

No one in the second tier of the stadium. Looks less than the qualifying final. This game was always going to be in the 20-25k range. Not sure why everyone expected 30k

Plenty in the second tier on one side. The other side must be closed.

Can't blame out of town opposition. How about out of country opposition? Roosters v Wigan got 31,500 for the WCC a few years ago. How does that get more than a prelim final? Shitney does it again.

Can't agree with ray warren saying that 'it's a good crowd.' It would have to be be one of the lowest prelim crowds in ages in Sydney.

Looks like it might be the lowest NRL era prelim at SFS.

Previous low was 27.5 twice, Cronulla v Melbourne in 08 and Parra v Melbourne in 99.

In both cases there was another larger crowd in Sydney that weekend at least.

no

in 99 there was 53K at ANZ for Dragons V Sharks
but in 08
It was an average 31K for Manly V the Warriors

How many of us who are disappointed don't live within striking distance of Sydney? How many of us care about how people perceive our incredible game?
Ps you need a new post. The 'where are you' song and dance is getting pretty tedious.

Im from Newcastle. Their was a time when alot of neutral fans would make the trek to Sydney for the finals. The fact very reasonable ticket prices were not publicised well in advance of the finals did not help. When fans know they are not getting price gouged for their efforts they will make an effort. The consistent price gouging of recent years has taken its toll, especially on the neutral fans along with insufficient lead up marketing of long overdue reasonable ticket prices.

It maybe a good thing! Im sure most neutral fans were cheering for the cowboys and it will ensure a massive tv audience along the eastern seaboard. The cowboys story should ensure this gf sells out. Not sure of the same if the Roosters and Storm would have sold out? And im a Roosters fan from Newcastle.
