It is strange that the theme for the Dragons
Community Events is "The Best You Can Be"
which I am sure they live up to. Perhaps the
hierarchy should put the Community Events
Manager in charge of the NRL First Grade
Operation instead of the current incumbent
who is clearly incompetent and has a 40%
rate of success which is clearly unacceptable.

Btw... On reading the Red V website to get the latest figures, I stumbled across the terms and conditions.

And I'm not sure if everyone here qualifies anyway...

Under the sections entitled Code of Conduct (excerpts):

- We will not publicly criticise the Dragons in a demeaning or derogatory manner regarding team selection, coaching, player contracts, and other decisions made by the administration.
- We recognise the efforts of the players as playing to the best of their ability in an effort to win each and every game.
- Advise the Club of any people not complying with the Code of Conduct.

OK, fess up...who here has dobbed someone in?
I wonder if they have multiple spies trolling the forums or do they ask Jubileeboy to do it all on his own? Tough gig.

Over 8000 memberships sold for STGI at moment....I'm sure there's many reasons why people have rejoined and indeed it's their right to do so....who could blame or begrudge someone who truly supports this once great club.......just guessing, but, the revolution seeking a new board and a new coach, by boycotting red v membership, of which I'm a supporter of.....at the moment seems greatly exaggerated. I hope I'm wrong!!!!

Lets see if the figures continue rise now auto-renewals have been completed and the date for those that wanted to keep there seats has passed. You would think, for the most part, existing or last seasons members that have not renewed would probably have done so by now. It would also be interesting to see the break down on memberships and whether there has been a decrease in level of membership by those that have renewed.

And from those 9794 probably only 50% will go to games so you will get 5000+ Saints fans to games if your lucky like 2016. I bet alot of those memberships are for 1 home game and many are holding out to use it later on in the season depending on how they are going.

Whereas sack Mary and bring in a proper coach and you will easily get double or possibly triple the amount of fans to the games. The money they need to pay out Mary will be made up for in the first home game. Pretty easy decision and a win win to the club, fans and especially the players. But no, let's make a decision where it is a win for Mary and the board members that want him there.

Memberships seem to have stagnated of late 11,086. How are we shaping up compared to this time last season?
Just interested in whether the fans are actually boycotting, or whether it was just all 'Huff 'n' Puff' after an ugly season?

EDIT: Just checked the membership thread in the NRL forum. We ar roughly 1,200 down on last season. Not to bad considering all the talk on social media and here (fairly warranted imo). Should note that I am 1 that followed a boycott, but pleasantly surprised to see the faithful still throwing in. Well in and hope the loyalty is rewarded with good performances both on and off the field ;)

The only figure that matters is the one at season start but if the trend continues, that drop of 1200 on previous figures (roughly 10%) is significant.

I will be now paying up and also introducing my Grandson as a show of faith in our great club. Not the Management.I just love the Dragons.
I get where you are coming from, I really do.

I love my kids with all my heart, however if they were as far off the rails as the current management of the Dragons, I would stop enabling them.

I also sincerely hope that our club can turn around their fortunes this year but I suspect we will see that Benji was not the problem.

As a Heartland Member, you would think the club would've included BOTH membership cards (or, at the very least refer to it in the accompanying letter).

Hmmm...

Obviously those people that said they would not renew their membership have backflipped
And thats their choice without prejudice
They will have the same number of members or more by the start of the season
This will not be a kick in the guts that was anticipated and needed

Latest update on the March with us website is memberships sitting at 11194, just over 1000 less than the same time last year. If the trend continues, membership levels will be at roughly the same point as prior to the Bennett era.

With people "backflipping" on their pledge to not renew their memberships, maybe it's the xmas, New Year, holiday season....a time to forgive and forget....a time to be positive, looking forward etc etc.....However, my reality is that the club can't endure another season like the last one. The first grade coach is inept whilst the board supports his total lack of ability to be able to be even remotely competitive against well coached teams....I don't want my kids or mates to turn up to games and be bored by another year of humdrum and blandness as was last years predictable game plans....The product needs to be refreshed, it needs to be competitive and it needs to entertain. Thus, my time to be positive etc goes beyond the current coach's tenure and only after then, I'll happily pay monies and renew my membership in support of this once magnificent club.

With the crap that has been dished up the last couple of years the board should be paying fans to attend

NRL MEMBERSHIPS ON THE UP
CANBERRA and Wests Tigers are the hottest tickets in town with hopeful fans clambering to secure memberships in record numbers.

Figures obtained by The Sunday Telegraph show the Raiders and Tigers lead the NRL in membership growth with both clubs enjoying a more than 100 per cent increase in members compared to this time last year.

Twelve clubs have experienced a rise in members including premiers Cronulla and the rebuilt Parramatta. Even Newcastle fans have not lost faith in their wooden-spoon club with an extra 2000 fans already signed up.

The Eels’ 15,000 members have them third overall while Cronulla have enjoyed a 35 per cent rise.

South Sydney are still clearly on top of the membership tally despite a drop of 7 per cent with 25,000 — 5000 more than Brisbane.

Fellow Sydney clubs Canterbury (8 per cent) and St George Illawarra (4 per cent) have also dipped in members while 2015 premiers North Queensland have had the greatest slide (12 per cent).

Manly and Gold Coast are the only clubs yet to crack the 10,000-membership mark with Jarryd Hayne’s arrival helping Gold Coast to the third-biggest rise with a 75 per cent increase.

The NRL’s new membership campaign “Join the family” seems to be working with the code having 30,731 more members than this time last year — an increase of 17.6 per cent.

with the signing of Bent Hunt even it is for 2018 I think people will want to get there memberships purely because the signs are there with Juniors coming through and a few good player been signed up, I think a good coach will be around the corner as well.
Just Hope Saints have learned from all this, but past mistakes IE Farah Mary price etc
