Or perhaps the people buying memberships were just the people who go to games most weeks anyway, so effectively it's still the same people going they're just buying their tickets in the preseason.
And at a cheaper price point. I wonder if these membership drives have been worth it.

Interestingly in annual report it mentions that every club has been given two nrl paid staff to drive memberships. Good to see the Nrl investing in supporting the clubs in this area.

Because they are not full memberships

Source? And are we talking one game, three game or full? Big difference when asking the question why memberships are not translating to attendances.
Source is common sense. Do you have anything to suggest otherwise?

yes crowd attendances.

Have a chat with el Nina ,Bureau of Meterology 4weeks of rain in the main whatever then have a chat with Grant and skewer him on the scheduling, then rip into the old clubs' CEOs for not having the foresight to upgrade their suburban grounds, then speak to the NSW Transport minister and tell him Sydney's transport infrastructure is crap,
Then have a chat with the Bulldogs ,Tigers,Warriors and Parra to get their acts together.
Once you've done that tell Cyclone Debbie to p*ss off, more heavy rain this weekend affecting Sydney all teh way up the coast..

Could membership numbers be fabricated?

I think your right.Look at Souths for instance 30 thousand members and sweet fa supporters at their games..

Someone is fabricating at Souths definitely.I reckon saints are another club we have 17k but can't attract more than 11k at Kogarah their spiritual home.

I believe the storm are telling the truth their crowds roughly match the membership numbers with in 1k or so..

Some Sydney clubs numbers just aren't adding up.

It's been done to death @Emu01 - a large portion of Souths' memberships are non-ticketed/supporter memberships

Or ticketed interstate members in Perth and Queensland. I saw three cars on my drive to work in Perth this morning with Souths 17 member stickers in the window.

If that's the case then the clubs should give 2 figures out ticketed members and non ticketed members.

Souths might only have about 15k ticketed members like everyone else has.

That would stop a lot of confusion re members/ crowd numbers.

Tbf I had think it's just us anoraks that care lol.
Besides membership growth is about the only thing Greenburg can point to that shows any kind of nrl growth so don't think he'd be keen.

Anyone got an update on the Perth teams membership numbers?

Eagles around 60k
Dockers around 40k
Wildcats around 15k
Force around 8k
Glory not many
NRL around 3-4k I suspect (Souths, Storm, Manly all sell WA memberships)

Thanks for your interest.

But they're not Perth teams, are they? You can't answer that question and include other NRL teams... If they were the Perth Rabbitohs, Perth Storm and Perth Sea Eagles, you'd have a leg to stand on, but they're not called that are they? You don't have a 1st grade NRL team to have any member numbers for, so you should probably just accept this...
