Isn't every rivalry a fanciful creation at first?

Valid. However built up over 79 years makes it very cultural and significant. In the market place that is an advantage. If you take away such an advantage you give other codes a sniff. And that's what's happening.

20k in an 80k stadium is better than 15k in a 20k stadium.

"how it looks on TV" is a worthless meaningless nothing measurement
Is it?
Does seeing a massive empty stadium with zero atmosphere make you want to go there?

I went to roosters v Newcastle
That crowd figure they posted was complete bullshit as far as I’m concerned.
Laughable... and I did.

Well I think that's about the size of it, and a pretty big part of the reason rebuilding all these stadiums that are only just approaching mid-life, if that, is so on the nose with the public at large.

it isn't
the vocal helen lovejoys of this world & the bleating sheep who live off their every word were the reason a perfectly legitimate infrastructure project was sabotaged. Sydneys mid aged stadia is hopelessly inadequate , a chance to do something about it was lost.

As much as seeing an empty hill does, which is to say, it doesn't effect my decision at all because I go to games every week.

Anyway, I'm not suggesting clubs abandon their home grounds entirely. Except Manly.

As far as your concerned isn't necessarily relevant to reality though.

I've spoken to.plenty that would support the Central Coast Bears if they were given a chance! But that sort of fact doesn't cut it in this error ridden discourse I'm witnessing. Shame on you!
I've spoken to plenty and they say you're a nut! A fruit loop! I don't despise the bears but they are gone! They won't return! Only an imploding peanut would believe they will! There is no rivalry! No hope! Shame on you for thinking otherwise defeatist marketing type person!!

yeah it is
because the 20K will experience not having to line up for 30 minutes to get a beer , a hot dog or take a piss
if it rains they will probably stay dry
they are more likely to come back.
At a suburban shit hole , they'll end up hungry . thirsty & wet from either pissing their pants waiting to go to the loo , or the rain , or both
& will from that point on , always watch on TV

the quicker we resign all suburban grounds to the dustbin of history the better

I’m not the only who doesn’t believe the crowd figures
I’m not the only one who is completely turned off watching games there.

It looks atrocious on TV and at the ground.

Give me a full suburban ground any day.
I bet I know what the players prefer too.

$25 to park my f**king car then daylight robbery for something to eat.
Not to mention the ticket price

I’ve never pissed my pants at the footy.
My seat is under cover

Lol. Pathetic response! Typically dumb! The rivalry between Manly Warringah and North Sydney still exists. It's the idiots like yourself that can't accept this reality. Even though damaging the code is the ultimate outcome, this negative discourse continues. Incredibly dumb!

I watched the bears play on the central coast a few weeks ago. There was a handful of fans none of them that I saw under 40.

Should be looking at 20k plus on Friday night for the shit timeslot. Then a sellout for the soccer on the Saturday. Big weekend in Newy.

They all play out of multi use stadiums
They al get shit crowds
It looks hopeless on TV
Embarrassing.
Except they don't "all get shit crowds" - they have on average been the most successful Sydney clubs of the last 10-15 years.

You can't ignore facts because it's visually unappealing.
