Looks a great night in Darwin. Suits it up there. Low key, laid back and relaxed.

Good result.

Well don’t Parra, the NRL and the Cows.

Last year was 11,968. With these two 14th and 16th I'm not shocked the crowd is smaller but still not horrible.

AFL haven't played there this year yet (the one a fortnight ago was in Alice), and won't be there til early July.

Last year's game got 12,104, slightly more than the NRL game. Melbourne are in form this year so it might get more although the opponents are Fremantle instead of Adelaide which could mean less. Who knows.

Can we just make Manly the roving team of the NRL to solve the Brooky issue and boost their crowds - lol

They could play at: USA (round zero), Central Coast, Tamworth, Darwin, Christchurch, Suncorp twice (double header and magic weekend), Perth, Adelaide, Tasmania, ANZ Stadium (part of double header) and Brooky for a heratige match on a Sunday afternoon.

Season average: 15 - 17k

Anyone who doubts if making games entertainment events is worth it should check out the crowds that have been turning out for Western Farce “friendlies”. They’ve been getting 17k crowds and even in a bad storm and heavy rain last night got 13.5k against the rebels, They are splashing out making the games events with fireworks, bands, loads of stuff for kids and give always, last night they had free hot tomato soup to keep you warm etc. then throw in cheap tickets, $20 Adults $5 kids and they are filling nib for games that are little more than friendlies, some lessons for nrl clubs to learn maybe?

If only the nrl, instead of just giving clubs $13mil, actually has some expectations on clubs using ther new found wealth to get fans to games.

So you want clubs to spend $13 million on tomato soup.

And what, pray tell, will they use to pay the players?

After 2 games? Pretty sure the NRL will around next year. Twiggys crap won't.
