Apart from the salary cap stuff, i cant for the life of me understand how manly only did 4 digits today.
Its a long weekend, been perfect weather in Sydney this weekend.
They havent been playing too bad and Canberra is shit.
Oh well.

Brookvale is a massive dump and a source of continual embarrassment for rugby league.

Biggest 14k crowd I have seen at Allianz, seen it a lot more empty and still announced 12-13k before.
What I thought unusual was that eastern stand seemed fuller than the western stand. Maybe that’s why it appeared more on tv, not sure. They film from the western stand towards the eastern. I think at times that actually makes the crowd seem less than it is.

Looked more on announced crowds there. What did it feel like?

Sitting up in the members and looking across to the Eastern side was expecting a crowd of about 18,000 to be announced because the Eastern side bottom level was quite full, must have not been many on the lower level of the western side then, did seem to me a bigger crowd than the 14,000 announced.

Imagine if manly had a few bad seasons in a row. Can they get off their arse and get some more supporters to their games. With the two games they’ve had at home why won’t more fans attend?

Why? Cronulla are a small club. Rebels are a big city club. We shouldn’t expect suburbs to be as big as cities. It’s the nrl, 13k is a pass lol

Yes You are right! Well done PR! It happens in London with the EPL clubs too! Note: All the Sydney clubs, particularly the longstanding ones have immense support and notoriety all over Australia . Similar & to a lesser level, but like London's many EPL clubs. The Sydney clubs are gold. Many of the Manly fans have left for the long weekend. Agree it was a poor crowd but their crowds will improve given success and good weather. The Saturday evening game at Brookie was not well promoted and oin a difficult non Easter friendly family timeslot in my opinion. ( alot of families away)

Surely Manly couldn't do any worse for crowds if they played at the new Allianz once built.

I wasn't an advocate for packing them up & sending them to Gosford
but I think it would solve a few problems
Yes , I know that would mean no teams representing the north of Sydney , so like a million people not having a side to follow with no bears or eagles
but , we aren't going to build a decent facility in that part of Sydney , the one that's there is at a standard just above a local park comp
& Manlys fans won't travel across the road to it

its grim
Manly need to move & if people want a side on the central coast , then they'll get the eagles .. or nothing

It's early days yet. Think if Manly keep playing the way they are and the weather along with draw is good, the crowds will rise at Brookvale. You bring up a good point about One million people in nother news Sydney. This market should and cannot be ignored or lost!

Central Coast Sea Eagles out of Gosford
Sydney Bears out of Alliance. The North Sydney fans will travel across the bridge.
