It's early days yet. Think if Manly keep playing the way they are and the weather along with draw is good, the crowds will rise at Brookvale. You bring up a good point about One million people in nother news Sydney. This market should and cannot be ignored or lost!

early days ??
they haven't drawn a decent crowd in 5 years & have been a fairly good side on field including a GF appearance
their crowds won't rise to anything remotely acceptable because manly are asking people to pay $30 to stand or sit on grass in a shit hole of a venue because they have to pay the bills & have to charge that much.
People are now staying away from brookvale because it is a shithole

its a dog of a dilemma
every other Sydney side has their shit together mostly
except Manly

Yes You are right! Well done PR! It happens in London with the EPL clubs too! Note: All the Sydney clubs, particularly the longstanding ones have immense support and notoriety all over Australia . Similar & to a lesser level, but like London's many EPL clubs. The Sydney clubs are gold. Many of the Manly fans have left for the long weekend. Agree it was a poor crowd but their crowds will improve given success and good weather. The Saturday evening game at Brookie was not well promoted and oin a difficult non Easter friendly family timeslot in my opinion. ( alot of families away)

too true brookvale has averaged between 10-11 in the last three years and before that about 13 max when they were really good. They charge way too much for such a shit ground. They should really negotiate a better price considering no other tenants play out of their. Just threaten to leave if they can’t get a better deal out of the council there.

even a few dollars saved isn't going to save manly based where they are
theres no future there where they are
limited fan base , aging & becoming less interested in their football side & certainly not interested in watching them at that horrendous brookvale oval

time to think about where they want to be in 5, 10 , 20 years time
it won't be Brookvale
it may not be Sydney either

If Sydney ckubs were gold there shouldn't be empty seats and endless excuses every week. Pathetic manly crowd, even at there peak couldn't sell out Brookvale all that success and still empty seats sums it up.

Limited fan base? My word you have got that so wrong! A million people in northern Sydney? Not too mention the multitudes of fans that follow this club outside of Sydney. Wow you are missing way too.much in the facts department to dismiss either clubs of MANLY or NORTH SYDNEY from this area which should include the Central Coast. Do the maths . 1.3 million and you can't see the merit in two clubs for such an area!? Wow!

Mate, I'm certainly not advocating for Manly to leave the NRL or Sydney but would you agree that there is no future at Brookvale? I know there is the old saying that Manly fans don't travel but I can't imagine they'd average any worse than they have for the last few seasons at a shiny new Allianz stadium. They can still train and base themselves at Brookvale and do their development work on the north shore, hence, still being Manly but just play out of Allianz.

It's the only way I see them growing their fan base and attracting corporates moving forward.

Yeah pretty poo weather, decent ticket sales but the weird time of 6:30 plus the weather might keep a few away.

2 sides within 50kms in an already crowded market ??
please leave the strategic decisions to people with some idea thanks all the same

No crowded market. Just people like yourself giving ground to other codes by diluting top flight rugby league in 3 regions. Do the maths and you might get it. But then again?

Perhaps redevelop Brookvale! ? Or build a 30000 capacity stadium somewhere in the northern Sydney area. That's progress. I'm sure the locals would appreciate it.

All the Sydney teams are within 50km. My plan gets one out of Sydney and replaces it with a team that can play out of a great stadium and draw a crowd.

That would be ideal but it's not going to happen. The NSW government have just been through the stadiums policy and they made it clear that suburban grounds aren't in their plans. It is a refurbished ANZ, a rebuilt Allianz and a rebuilt Parra - that's it.

Given the choices, surely Allianz has to become the only option to secure Manly's future and allow for them to grow.
