Suburban team playing in a national Comp.
Why do we need this doomsday bullshit?so a big top 4 , all Sydney clash on a Sunday afternoon at a major venue next week
if the weather is fine , surely , surely this will drag fans out of their living rooms to the football in big numbers
If it doesn't then idk what can be done for our game in Sydney

Tbf it’s not just sydney, very few clubs can regularly crack 15k and only one 20k. The games just not as popular as we’d like to think, then you throw in dumb KO times, ridiculous cost and poor game day experience and you have our stagnant 15k, give or take a few, crowd avg competition.

Why not frame it "two big teams, lets hope for a big crowd", instead of the pathetic, exasperated tone?
The way you carry on it's as though the NRL average has dropped 10k in five years. Chicken little stuff
The geography of both cities is a little bit different to. And the fact that one side is 2 hours drive away.Youre out by a half a million or so lol
Point stands 50k in Perth on a Thursday night, 10k in Cronulla. It’s notmreally the night, it’s the amount of fans and commitment

you're contradicting yourself as usual
you say the game isn't as popular as we think , then give all the reasons why crowds aren't as big as they could be
which is it ?
take away the reasons & we probably average 20K a game & our game is as popular as we think it is
Your point is complete & utter bollocks. The comparison between a game in Perth and Sydney with its inadequate infrastructure ,transport situation, geographical spread, population density is like comparing a whale with a dolphin..
The city has grown massively with housing, the roads and railways are still just about unchanged .
they are only just starting on an expressway from Alexandria to eventually line up. with with the F6.
Reality check. It is the night ,it is the time 6pm Friday, and it is the city involved. You have NFI .Live in this city for a few months and work in the city, not just do a FIFO.You expect people also to get there from Canberra by 6pm.It's not in the Royal National Park FFS.
I've driven city for work, to and from the Shire for 28 years, so have some idea of the dramas.Sitting back pushing a keyboard ,from the most isolated city on the planet, shows you are completely out of the loop.
Still hardly explains a 50k crowd compared to a 10k crowd though does it? If you’re not committed to supporting your club there will always be excuses. Once a year and knowing fixtures months in advance I’m sure more than 10k could accomodate it of there was a commitment. And what about the often mentioned love of suburban grounds as it’s convenient for fans to get to? Let’s be honest this game on a sat/sun gets 14k ish, the Thursday only knocked off 4kish in all likelihood. That’s the problem, I’d sharks were getting 25k to games then it drops to 17-18k on a Thursday in likelihood.
