Exactly. PR just arguing for the sake of it. The second Friday game shifted to Thursday, the Monday game moved to Friday 6pm.

Well we had two Friday night games, which we've still got. Just different Ko times. And one week night game, which we've still got. Just a different week night. in terms of of crowd comparisons by fixture surely it's more logical to compare apples with apples
Monday v Thursday
Friday 7:30pm v Friday 6pm

No.

I just remembered in 2016 Thurs and Mon Night Footy co-existed.

18 Thursday games
24 Monday games

The 8 weeks without Thursday games were 6 split rounds (either side of origin) and two public holiday Monday weekends (where the game was on Monday afternoon on Channel 9).

Those 18 Thursday games replaced the second Friday game. We didn’t have 2 Friday games any night of 2016

The Friday 6pm game started at the expense of MNF in 2017.

100%:
2nd Friday —> Thurs
Monday —> Friday 6pm

Good on the tigers and storm to promote the game in Auckland. Auckland have always deserved a team.

It's good to see teams taking games to country centres like Tamworth and that the Roosters have committed to Adelaide and games are still being played in Bathurst. The Titans are great putting games in Toowoomba and Gladstone. Toowoomba is massive on Rugby league and I've always wanted the Broncos to take a game there, it's a footy heartland and deserves to have a game there. The people of Toowoomba will be thrilled of the prospect of premiership matches there and hope it becomes an annual. Will try to attend the Toowoomba game as well.

again for our beginners
Marlin im looking at you , its bad enough you have the raiders playing 2 games in the opening round lol
but the Perth DH will be games 2 & 3 of the sat triple header , when were you thinking a nsw game as the 3rd game would be kicking off ... 9.30pm local time ? sheesh

the times on sat ( all east coast times )
should be 5.30pm ( NSW game ) , 7.30pm & 9.30pm the last 2 being the games in Perth , so a 4.30pm & 6.30pm kickoff over there
It can get up to 40c in Perth in March , the Fremantle doctor should be through by kickoff if it is a particulaly hot day so really thats as early as they could start.

Thursday 8pm Titans V Cowboys
Fri 6pm Raiders V Penrith
Fri 8pm Broncos V Manly
Sat 5.30 Parramatta V Sharks
Sat 7.30 Bulldogs V Storm
Sat 9.30 Souths V Warriors
Sun 4.00 Newcastle V Dragons
Sun 6.30 Tigers V Roosters

Derp

The relevance is in who broadcasts the games, how are you not able to see that? Apples with apples is games on the same network. Delayed Friday game becomes Thursday's live 9 game.

I believe the Eels will be playing the Sharks in the Round 3 double header.... so I'll go with Parra V Panthers in the Thursday night game in Round 1 with the Sharks playing the Raiders

Thu - Eels v Panfers
Fri 6pm - Knights v Titans
Fri 8pm - Boncos v Manly
Sat 5:30 - Raiders v Sharks
Sat 7:30 - Dogs v Storm
Sat 9:30 - Warriors v Bunnies
Sun 4pm - Roosters v Tigers
Sun 6pm - Dragons v Cows

fair enough
I now think the Warriors game in perth should be the first of the doubler header
a 4.30pm kickoff there is 9.30pm in NZ
so should still be a reasonable time to watch
a 6.30pm kickoff time in WA would have the game finishing at 1.15am on NZ TV

so looking after our kiwi friends its a no brainer really

Warriors always lose in Perth and nearly always lose in round 1.

It was quite considerate of the NRL to combine two "always lose" scenarios into one round. Now they just need to give us the standard "Broncos during Origin" fixture and we're good to go.
