We know HOW to do it. We CHOOSE not to.

The QLD 2000 strip was mint!

Here is Jakeob Watson’s overview of the cultural significance behind the jersey.

‘This painting represents the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles club and all their supporters.

The 15 white circles represent each of the other clubs within the NRL and the connecting lines show the paths travelled to and from these towns for games.

The circle on the bottom right represents the playing group coming together and getting ready to fight alongside one another every week, the top right circle represents the family’s partners and children of the players and the one on the left is the supporters group, and then you have the sea eagle always flying over watching everyone along the way and protecting them and making sure they are ok.’

Here he is last year with a similar design on a sponsor-less jersey

They (assuming Manly did) go to the effort to get an indigenous artist to design something relevant to the team's area and put a whole story into a bunch of dots then go whack a big sponsor slap-bang across half the design.

And is that an attempt at incorporating a V at the top?

Nothing would be worse than Melbournes where all the hands were reaching towards the Crown sponsorship.

So in addition to the Broncos going neon gold for their game tomorrow in Auckland, the Warriors will be wearing their heritage strip. Interesting combo.

another heritage used last night by the roosters...I really wish these were all kept for the one round. By the time we get to heritage round (if there is an official one anymore...last 2 years have been a fox promotion) the element of surprise will have gone. I remember in the early days of the concept the jerseys weren't released until a week before the match and it was very exciting to see them all for the first time.

Before anyone says anything..I know this will never happen.

"In remembrance of the hundreds and thousand of men and women in our armed forces who have given their lives for our country, the NRL and the 16 clubs have come together this round in unity to play in special "clean" jerseys as a sign of respect. These jerseys all display the ring sun and red poppy flower on each sleeve and the words "Lest We Forget" across the chest. Out of respect, clubs and sponsors have agreed to not have any branding on their jerseys this round. At the end of each match all jerseys will be signed and auctioned off with all proceeds going towards the RSL."

This would be awesome. Matching plain shorts and socks. Even if just one club decided to do this it would be awesome.

It's a nice concept (no sponsors + poppy and rising sun on sleeves = simply beautiful) but I think you would need to incorporate a classic style V or or horizontal bands on the jersey.

you know what...maybe they can even just have their normal jerseys except with zero sponsorship (like a best and less round). Its the ultimate sign of respect that just trumps any Anzac jersey ever done in NRL or AFL.

It’s a shame they went away from the roosters sky blue vs dragons redv as both have wartime beginnings.

The sky blue was used due to a lack of navy dye which was used for military uniforms.

The dragons used to use red and white stripes. At the time of the war, they had to wear plain white jerseys due to the dye shortage. Someone has excess red cloth and sewed on red vee and hence the the red vee was born.

Out of all the ANZAC jerseys ever made it is the only one that actually has meaning, holding a very unique and specific connection to the Roosters. It just makes sense to do it every year without fail.

Here is how it would look on their current template.

Exactly and that's why I really liked the Raiders indigenous jersey last year. It had the compete design without the sponsor whacked on top.

Regarding the Indigenous design, it just hit me (seeing the Manly image) that most of these clubs could/should be doing indigenous art versions of their own logos...
