New back of shorts sponsor for Penrith...

Penrith Panthers is delighted to announce Westfund Health Insurance has signed on as the club's official insurance partner for at least the next three years.

The partnership will see the Westfund logo displayed on the back of the Panthers NRL playing shorts from 2018 onwards.

Westfund is a regional, not-for-profit health fund with a presence in 12 locations across NSW and Queensland.

"It is with a great deal of satisfaction that we welcome Westfund into the Panthers family," Panthers CEO Brian Fletcher said.

"Westfund has forged its strong reputation on prioritising the needs of its members and building meaningful relationships with its communities.

"These are fundamental values that Panthers also embraces and we look forward to working together to deliver fantastic benefits for Panthers and Westfund members in the years ahead."

Wholly Australian owned and operated, Westfund has been providing its members with timely access to quality health services since 1953.

"Westfund is excited to be partnering with Panthers in 2018," Westfund CEO Matt Banning said.

"Partnering with Panthers is a great opportunity for Westfund as we look to engage with our members in key areas including the Blue Mountains and Penrith; as well as into our current catchment across Central West NSW.

"We support Panthers bringing the NRL into the Central West and in sustaining a program for growth across the state. We look forward to the match at Bathurst's Carrington Park in May and in joining Panthers in developing a program of community events based on health and wellbeing in regional communities.

"Our partnership with Panthers will provide Westfund greater opportunity to increase awareness of our business and to align with health-related initiatives to show we are more than just a health insurer.

"All at Westfund are enthusiastic about our new partnership with Panthers and look forward to developing some valuable relationships and projects for the benefit of our members and their communities."

Explanations for...

Heritage:
The Heritage Jersey resonates back with the club historical colours and the chevron shapes provide a strong link back to the NRL.

Indigenous:
The warrior is looking to the left about to engage in battle… The weapons are befitting of a top warrior. The patu is a strong attacking and defensive weapon and the tewhatewha is a very chiefly weapon. The ferns represent NZ, the mist is spirit, wairua, and pays homage to our homeland Aotearoa. Mist is also a connector to our ancestors and to the earth mother and sky father.

Women in League:
The koru is symbolic of life, growth, new beginnings, awakening, nurturing, new phase (in life), the spirit of rejuvenation, reaching upward toward the light and positivity. With this jersey we pay respect to all of the women in our lives - Our Grand mothers, mothers, wives, partners, daughters and friends.

This would be a fantastic one-off Storm jersey, if they took one of their home games to Wellington or Hamilton.

I know their secondary colour is Navy, not black.. but this would be a good mix of Storm purple & NZ black.

Okay so I'm really confused about those Warriors jerseys. That's the old template. Also the Canterbury logo has moved from the chest up to the shoulders.

Why aren't they using the new template?

Warriors deal direct with CCC NZ, where as Dogs/NSW/Aus deal with the Australian arm, is my best guess.

The relocated CCC logo is because there's a new chestplate sponsor https://www.dtr.co.nz/ which will take its place.

Because they saw how silly the new template is and probably just told CCC they wanted the old one. Fancy that...a team (the customer) dictating to a manufacturer what they want in a jersey. I applaud the Warriors if this actually is the case.
