I'm still surprised we copped it as much as we did for our 2018 jersey given the Cowboys suite of jerseys for next season.

You guys butchered a classic.
Cowboys, like the warriors and Penrith, have just lurched from one identity crisis to another.
I’m more disappointed with the dogs. I kinda expected the cowboys to be shit

That is f**king horrific.

Lucky they’re not actually wearing it for a game or else they’ll look as stupid as NQ......

Surely if true you would just make it a preseason jersey?
Bulldogs have (since moving to CCC anyway) used the 'training jersey' as their pre-season kit from memory.

That may change this year although if its true what they're saying and it's not to be match worn then it's literally a merch item.

I miss the nines jerseys already. We clearly need another themed round to replace the loss of the opportunity the nines afforded.

Thats f*ckin brilliant!!!

CCC might produce shit, but it is the finest quality shit you will find. 9s is meant to be fun and dumb, CCC should be doing ALL of the 9s jumpers.

(Seriously not bad if that was the only gimmicky piece of shit they were to use)

Nines were cancelled back in July, so that would mean the Bulldogs had a chosen a design before then

It does hold up for me. They surely could have put the brakes on producing them since they are only hitting the shelves now. But whatever, not a huge deal. Would have been a good 9’s jersey

I can guarantee you most clubs would have at least been at the final design stage with 2018 jerseys (Nines included) at that point... if not progressed further.

True but it has an embroidered NRL badge on it, not a 9's badge. Just a horrid jersey either way.

Bulldogs really drove that Super League design for a long as they could didn't they and even changed their colours to add in Silver at one stage to accommodate a sponsor. They have a simple jersey with two very complimentary colours but they miss the mark more then they hit it.

In my opinion, their jersey hit perfection back in 2014, the one they wore in the Grand Final that year. It was perfect! Colours, sponsors, no piping, the whole thing just worked well, no idea why they changed it.

And pretty sure Bennett has nothing to do with the Broncos jerseys. I know he is credited with everything good and nothing bad (Like some sort of living god) but I assume he doesn’t design the jerseys (or Wash and iron them for that matter)

I believe Andrew Gee was in charge of arranging the washing and ironing - about $10K to rent a washer and dryer for the week, coincidentally from the wife/partner of someone in the squad.

Not sure what they do now

Best the dogs ever looked. Add shorts and sock stripes and they look even better.

It's a gimmick jersey for a gimmick event - every club including yours had one. Singling us out for it is ridiculous.

The reason it probably has the NRL logo on it is because a decision was made to put it into production despite the Nines cancellation, and they couldn't put a Nines logo on it with no Nines event, so they banged the NRL logo on it instead.

As for the Super League design, my understanding is that the club didn't necessarily care all that much about jersey designs during the Mortimer-Noad eras, and just stuck with what Nike put to them.

What sponsor did we add silver (really grey tbh) for?

Definitely agree re: the 2014 jersey, although for me the chevrons sat too high. Problem with the question "no idea why they changed it" is because barely any club keeps the same design for more than a couple of seasons (even the Dragons' Red V has had multiple variants over the past 10 years).
