Do you really think a website called AFL tables is the official crowd stats of the NRL? Compared to the magazine owned and operated by the NRL?

It used to be hosted by rleague before that went under, as did the AFL stats. It's been around since at least the early 2000s and is pretty reliable. Rugby League Project also has the information, but I'm a slave to habit and I've been using that site for 15 years now!

It’s a great site, and I’m very familiar with it.

Old mate claim certain clubs use double headers in their crowd figures. Timmah demonstrated as per an official NRL source, that they don’t. Old mate then revealed his source to be afltables, which whilst they do a great job, are clearly not official

Old mate you need to pay better attention to who said what instead of putting words in people’s mouths. I never raised double headers in crowd figures. I just posted the totals taken from AFL tables site. When it was raised I just confirmed that they do count the figures for both home teams.

The closest thing we have to an official set of club averages is what Big League publish - this is an excerpt from their Finals Week 1 edition last year. Melbourne and Manly clearly do not include the double header at Suncorp in their home average. If they did, the Storm would've have 18,375 and Manly 13,493.

And that is exactly what afltables shows for storm and manly.

I don't care what an unofficial stats site shows though?

What afltables choose is up to them. Someone claimed that the clubs include the figures, I illustrated that last year this was not the case according to the closest thing we have to official records. Nobody's doubting or dismissing what afltables include - fact is that their stats are not relevant to this discussion as they have no affiliation with clubs or the NRL.

I’m not debating the merit of it or otherwise I’m just stating that I used their stats and that they include it. I agree with your logic. I never said the clubs claim it. I just used their numbers to show 5, 10 and 20 year trends. I don’t think the double headers will have a material impact on the overall trends given there are very few of them each year. If they are excluded then the question is where do they go? They shouldn’t be dismissed either. Do the big league numbers allocate any numbers to the attendance for the home teams?

They're right. A lot of roosters fans up here.

I may be open minded enough to contemplate a club like the Roosters losing it's origins/fabric? Complying to these weak thoughts I've thought of a suitable relocation name for the club into the futute; East Coast Roosters. That may work as they can have a generic name that will comply to many coastal areas throughout Australia's east coast. Just an idea for the weakening the code lobbyist! May even work! Lol

It's not weakening the code. I've argued against removing teams from NSW. I just don't think another one will work.

You'll have 11 teams within driving distance. At some point you have to ask how many is too many as they start to subtract from each other which damages the game long term.

That's non sensical! It's the most populated (greater Sydney)and perhaps fastest growing area/regions(western Sydney at least) within AustralIa! ? And you would rather see an area comprising some 1,3 million people and growing with just one top flight club!? Manly Warringah alone will not satisfy this area. That's a certainty!

Shame the NRL didn’t let the Gold Coast go broke. For a regional city their membership numbers are pathetic!

Swap them for a 2nd Brisbane team and stop all the expansion talk.

Good job they arnt close to being the worse supported team in the comp!

Biggest ! Let's put it that way!

Err still no, CC population is only set to increase by 80,000 in next twenty years.
Brisbane region is set to increase by 662,000
Perth by 500,000

Where do you think the next expansion priorities should be lol
