Back when the kick off was 3pm, you could start with the beers, BBQ and friends coming over around 12pm. Watch the GF then kick everybody out by 6 at the latest. Now, they still come over at 12pm and leave at 12am.

The NRL must think a night GF is more popular based on ratings, fact is most people have stopped getting together to watch the game. It use to be an event, now it's just another TV finale.

Yep 6 wouId be a good compromise. The day just drags with the late kick off and just doesn’t feel like that “special” GF day.
