Saturday’s joint coverage. Interesting this was Saturday’s highest rating pay tv nrl game despite being simucast.

You can look across all the simulcast games, they rate just as highly as the exclusive games. It's clear that games being shown on 9 has no impact on their ratings on fox.

It's more reason why Friday 6pm is a silly timeslot and also shows there is no reason why we can't have a regular game on a Saturday (it won't affect super Saturday).

Interesting to see an article on TV Tonight listing the top programs since 1993. AFL Grand Final consistently there but while Origin makes the Top 5, the League Grand Final wasn't on the list until 1999.

Those ratings for the international matches in 1993 are depressing as f**k. They weren't far off SOO and 1 game out rated the AFL grand final.

It pisses me off to constantly hear how there is no interest in international league. There's interest, but we've done everything we can to squander it.

That's what I noticed and it was only against NZ, the poms used to bring huge interest in, would love to know what those ashes games rated.

That article on TV tonight excluded regional viewers while discussing ratings.

It's the only thing that keeps AFL appearing competitive. Regionals destroy them.

Think there may be some wrist slitting at Nine ,after seeing the TV ratings for JT's last game.

Oh but wait ,Nein is the home of rugby league.If that's the case, then NRL would be better off in a cave in the Himalayas.They'd get about as much promotion there.

I'm no fan of Channel 9 but this is one where I think it was out of their hands.

it would be stupid to show a game that wasn't going to make any difference to the finals

Pretty sure the 7:30pm Saturday game for rd 25 was set when the draw was released. No one was to know NQ was going to suck more ball bag than a Thai lady boy in 2018 and it was gonna be JT’s last ever game. Can’t blame 9 for this one.

Pretty sure it was Storm fans tuning in to see if they had won the MP lol,
the 12k Sharks fans wont have made much of a dent.

65,000 Shark's fans who attended made a decent dent in 2016 at the Big One.
We of course won't know about the Pirate's fans,as they haven't materialised.
