Ok interesting.
If its going to be run by the NSWRL and basically a rebranded SS, then why wouldn’t it be run alongside RMC?

while it comes under the NSWRL it will be run more like the conference competition, ie by the districts and overseen by the NSWRL,

The "A grade" game with the brawl referred to earlier was a 3rd division game so these teams would be ranked 18th and 19th in the South West conference - so not a valid comparison to SS. The top 3 teams are St Johns, Wenty and Cabra - so pretty familiar, not SS standard but St Johns have a couple guys that played in last years World Cup.

They are probably a few A grade sides that could be added to the SS sides in premier A grade eg Coogee Wombats and Windsor but South Sydney and Penrith are still running separate comps so it might not be possible to force them to come in.

Well apparently this combined comp they wanted to add the Penrith competition , but Penrith said no they wanna keep what they have. And I’m guessing the south’s comp will do the same ? So how many teams do they reckon there going to get in the premier Agrade comp ? It won’t be too many cause most clubs probably won’t have two teams next year cause of this.

Ok which country did the st johns blokes play for in the world cup? I would have thought that if they were good young prospects they’d be playing SS or RMC?

I watched the first half of last years Penrith A grade grand final- definitely lower standard than the top SS teams.
The Penrith junior comp is probably the biggest so why would any of their clubs be interested joining some mickey mouse conference comp

Some guys prefer to play with their mates. Andrew Kazzi is captain, he played a few games for Lebanon and Wests ISP last year and Michael Morgan joined late in the season, he played in all the games for Ireland as well as Bulldogs ISP - he played for Cabra earlier this season.

I don't expect any Penrith clubs to join but that is interesting that you assert the comp is very weak. I know that Mounties had up to 5 of their RMC squad playing for Emu Plains each week this year and Emu finished 6th out of 7 teams. I listened to the last years A grade GF on the radio, St Clair had several players that were in RMC the previous season and Brothers had a stack that played RMC this year so it is surprising that those guys are not SS standard.

Obviously you have a better knowledge of who’s played where previously than I do.
I didn’t asert anything. I am sure there are some good players running around in A grade, but some of them are doing it partly because the money is better than SS, and others because they’re longer interested in attempting to climb the grades.
My comment was that the first half of last years Penrith A grade wasn’t a very high standard- ive seen stronger performances from some of the SS teams this year.

Oh you mentioned brothers had stack in last years A grade grand final that have played RMC this year- what does prove ??? I think the only team they’ve beaten this year is hills.

There is a huge gap between RMC and SS, I doubt that any SS team would beat the bottom RMC team. A few years ago several SS teams would have beaten the bottom RMC team easily. Brothers did also draw with Cabra, who are reasonably decent side, and lost to wests by a field goal.
