On paper I don't really think Queensland have a size or physicality advantage in the forwards at all, they just played and tackled really hard.

NSW soaked it up and hit them on the counter.

Gotta be satisfying for NSW fans to see their team win by outsmarting and outskilling Queensland

Raving on about how bad Cordner was is excessive but he IS an ineffective ball carrier to the point where it stands out a bit. Hard worker though. It's possible to both acknowledge that he took all the hard runs, and acknowledge that he didn't take them very well.

Nobody cares how hard you try, if you're not effective at what you do than you shouldn't be there. Yes he was there taking the ball out of his own danger zone but he barely made 1 or 2 m's each carry. He runs a million miles an hour and gets absolutely destroyed each every time he runs it. He doesn't have the skillset or the origin mentality to be out there.

He was gassed pretty much the entire night. He was defending 1 or 2 in the whole night and was really struggling to keep up. Everytime QLD ran it out his way he was run around by QLD and they looked dangerous.

I thought he was selected to run some good lines and look dangerous in QLDs half? He did none of that. If he is now the guy that brings it out of our own half I hope he can start making some metres otherwise stand aside and let someone else do it.

Chambers better than Munster? :joy:

ratings are a crock.....every media outlet bring one out with the work experience kid compiling them. no better than nuffies here putting them together.

chambers had an up and down night. dropped one from kafusi he'd normally eat up -> looked like he was put off by Ado-Carr nearly intercepting it - missed several tackles, but also made some metres down the right side and was much better than inglis with ball in hand (GI was starved of it, more below) and Will was no different to munster in this regard. was even better than him in getting a repeat set, but then managed to derp one up later on when he kicked on the third or something. was inconsistent.

as a running half with plenty of speed and strength, munster always looks threatening in the Wally lewis mould, but NSW controlled him last night. cooper and inglis outside him never really got much ball in attacking situations either as Cam always runs to the line makes some post contact metres and then goes to ground with the ball. may as well be a middle forward.

He was almost best on ground.

much of the work he did provided the space for Teddy. no surprise that some of Teddy's best work at Tigers was when he had a decent Farah as #9.

#9 is probably your most important position. gets his hands on it the most and dictates the speed and direction. when you have a plodder here, it f**ks the whole team.

and Teddy currently has a plodder #9 to deal with at the roosters.

Have to agree on the comments about the nsw forwards getting dominated

What would you change though?

I feel we are missing a straight runner that doesn’t try and ball play every tackle. Had too many guys running sideways last night

Alvaro maybe? I’m struggling to think of consistently large metre eaters. Truth be known we probably missed Fifita’s yards last night...Klemmer ran for 133 metres and only had 28mins. WTF? None of the backrowers ran over 100 a part from cordner. I know Fifita is a ball player but he also knows when to take his 10m hit up and move on

Not sure we’ll get so lucky next game, especially if they get a few of their stars back and select ponga

‘Few’ of their stars? Other than Slater, there’s no one else to come back into the QLD team.

Seriously though, wouldn’t be surprised if they do the SOS for one of them for game 2

QLD need to move forward and allow the new gen to stamp their mark. Relying on the old firm is just delaying the development of the future players.

They were in the game last night up to their eyeballs until Gagai dropped the ball. It’s not like they were blown off the park.

scott & gillett perhaps?

a fit Hunt to take on the line a bit more too?

they need an acting half who will put pressure around the ruck as well. should've gone with Granville, but they won't be dropping McCulloch now

QLD were on top at time last night and can improve.

Shame the Ado-carr forward pass try killed the game

Granville doesn’t deserve to be picked. His service from DH is f**king atrocious this year.

It’s a no from me.
