Having a chuckle at NSW fans digging it into Cordner but are quite comfortable with Cleary's performance, he was just a body in defense, that's it.. and spare me the "it was his debut" bullshit, if NSW get beat he's the first hooked

You kind of expect more from your halfback

I’ll give Cordner 1 thing and that’s gee he takes the tough runs that others don’t. When the goings hard he seems to be the 1 st to put his hand up. Don’t mind his defence either. Looked after Maloney all night. Thought Cleary went ok but his kicking game reminded me of pearces. New team and young blokes will only get better
He makes runs look tough because he's so f**king soft

The better team won but the pass from Maloney left his hand before the 10 m line and Addo Car caught it after the 10 m line. With NSW winning the penalty count 4-1 it's going to be pretty hard for some of the posters on here to carry on about Sutton favouring QLD from now on.

Oh dear another one who doesn't understand the laws of momentum.

continuing from above...the lack of leadership and organisation without QLD's big 4 was a big diff. you just think that even with just slater there, he would've talked up and got the forwards organised early in sets. effort was there from QLD but playing like individuals

Cleary is 20 years old snd has never played a game close to this level before.

He was average. But average is better than shit.

His only true try assist was the kick.

Teddy set up 2 and cook the other.

Teddy, cook, addo-carr, latrell and turbo were all well above Maloney.

We keep them to 0 without jimmy

The first try was a true assist. Cook made a mini line break but maloney had to run the hole and give the pass. You cant downplay that.

Thats Maloney. He will let points in but will help score more.

No penalties to Queensland for the last 77 minutes of the game despite 2 clear strips, clear blockers, a double movement, multiple offsides, markers standing next to the play the ball and a couple of punches thrown in for good measure.

NSW don’t win without Gerard Sutton and that’s a fact.

Punches? f**k off you dumb merkin.

That score flatters QLD hugely. Was a 20+ win margin between the teams performance.
I thought Qld would have won this because the NSW players needed a game behind them to get used to each others ways and means in attack and defence.

What I forgot was that Qld themsekves had players who were rookies which offset my prediction. But overall,it was an absorbing contest. A very enjoyable game to watch, which is always a delight when you have that much raw talent on show.

Bring on game 2.

I already commented we had nothing in attack but there aren't many other options for us, DCE?

We need to roll the dice and blood the likes of Ponga to bring something else to the side, no longer can we just be competitive for 70 minutes and then bank on Cronk, Smith or Thurston to get us out of it
