Freddy's choice of fitter smaller forwards over bulk paid off. Gould praising Queensland for gang tackles had me feeling the opposite; Queensland's big men were out on their feet trying to make tackles, NSW traded impact for consistency as a result they committed fewer defenders to each tackle and shut down the Queensland defence. Great game.

This is true. The gang tackles only took QLD defenders out of position to allow the Blues to break through the middle.

Cleary is 20 years old snd has never played a game close to this level before.

He was average. But average is better than shit.

Especially with the pressure of resonsibilty that came with being a rookie half. The pressure must be immense to soak it in,yet seemingly stay composed.

I'll be the 1st to admit that he didn't have the killer game that I,and for that matter,a lot of other fans anticipated. But the whole team has to bottle what was in that NSW dressing room at fulltime,and bring it out again for another whiff at HT in the next game.
