Has anyone seen the training gallery from the AIS? I think it’s a good indication of who Seibold is planning on playing in the first 17. There are 2 teams but 3 different classes. 1 team is no singlets and the other team is singlets. Orange singlets look like people who probably won’t be in the starting 17. Players like Martin, Arthars, Taukamo, Burns. Where players in a blue singlet look as if they’re being considered for the 17 in Clark, Farah, Nicholls, Tatola. It is my opinion that no singlets is the likely starting 13. This is because the players with no singlets were obvious picks like Reynolds, All Burgess boys, Gagai, GI, Walker, AJ, Crichton. Some interesting picks are Graham, Kennar, Turner. It looks like they’re keen to go with Graham and Kennar on an edge.

I don’t know if this is 100% correct but it definitely looks along the lines of what they were going with. It should be noted that both Farah and Cook rotated between teams. So there’s still no clear winner for the hooker role.

Yea I saw that too and it's interesting to see. I like that both Kennar and Graham are right up there and being considered.

It's clear to me Cook should be our hooker....

Thanks mate for the info....

So Graham at left centre and Kennar on left wing!!!!!

I honestly see our centres as Gagai and GI.....

If GI is injured then Graham probably goes to left centre....

Mate I wouldn't be surprised if we see Turner starting in the 10 jersey.... Then when he goes off after 25mins Sam switches from back row to prop is what I want.....

You can't have your best middle forward away from the middle the whole game...... that's wanting to lose imo..... surely Seibs isn't that silly...

1. AJ
2. Kennar
3. Gagai
4. GI
5. Graham/Jennings
6. Cody
7. AR
8. Tom
9. Cook
10. Turner
11. Sam
12. Fuimaono
13. Murray

14. Sutton
15. Crichton
16. Musgrove
17. George

18. Farah

I'd be trying to limit the twins minutes for them to have a bigger impact as they make less errors when they don't play long stints...... I'd limit Musgrove' minutes somewhat too.....

I'd be relying on Turner at prop for reasonable minutes and Sam to play 40 mins there at prop after his first 25 in the back row.....

The back 5 we are playing this year is a class above the back 5 we were playing last year.

To give a good idea, for the majority of the season we were playing

1. Walker
2. AJ
3. Hunt
4. Talakai/Jennings
5. Goodwin

This year if everyone’s fit we will have a backline of

1. GI
2. AJ
3. Gagai
4. Graham/Hunt
5. Kennar

Obviously there are big question marks on Graham and Kennar both playing on the same edge but I think coming into 2018 the right decisions were made. If our forward pack can remain consistent and dominant then we should have a better season.

If GI is injured then yes I see Graham and Kennar on the same edge.....

Here is what fox sports predicts our 2018 round 1 side to look like:

Stoked to get the Skywatch (NZ TV guide) for Febuary today and see that both of our trial games are being televised over here! In all my years of supporting Souths, this has never happened so I'm pretty happy.

Farah wants to keep his World Cup momentum rolling: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2018/01/25/farah-wants-to-keep-his-world-cup-momentum-rolling/

Gagai is privileged to be here: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2018/01/25/privileged-to-be-here---gagai/

GI will not be FB.....at least, I think he shouldn't be. Yes, he's lethal, but it's important to keep him on the park for most of the season, and left centre is going to be easier on his body than FB.

Gagai is a top class winger, a turnstile at centre. problem is, Souths are paying him top-class centre salary so probably need to play him there. there are going to be issues defensively.

??? Not sure what you mean there mate. Anyway...

Taukamo putting in hard yards to make up for lost time: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2018/01/17/tyrone-taukamo/

apologies...i had written an OT post about the poor state of Redfern Oval at the mo and how it's ridiculous a professional club was using it as its base. hard and dry and can't be great for impact and recovery over the course of the off/pre-season and in-season too if it's not improved. i compared it the roosters lakeside field at moore park which is much softer underfoot.

you only have to look at the investment of training fields of major sports clubs OS to see how important it is.....footy clubs use training fields (i.e., redfern in souths case) much more than actual game day fields. i'd say our boys are already ahead in wear and tear in comparison to other clubs and the comp hasn't even begun yet.

anyway.......i thought I'd posted it twice but apparently none at all.

So do we think full strength line up for the Wigan game or use it to give our fringe players some game time?
