Melbourne were off their game, but got a lot of penalties to keep them in it. Some of their off game has to be attributed to the gritty Tigers defense, but Bellamy won't be impressed with their errors. They defended well too, they are still one of the deserved favourites.
It is early days, but the Tigers just need to show this heart in defense for most of the season and they'll win more games than they lose. If they can build on their offload game they have a basis for a good attacking game too. Reynolds will help backing up offloads, though it is a conundrum where he will play. You wouldn't shift Marshall the way he is playing. Reynolds to hooker maybe?
