So the ARLC is heading over to Europe to attend the AGM at the RLIF and propose reform

Wonder what that means ?

Beattie comment

Todd and I are attending the AGM of the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) in Leeds next week. Reform of the RLIF is on the agenda along with finalising next year’s International Calendar. We need a rolling 4 or 5 year calendar to give more certainty to the Game #nrl

Yet the only ones who are creating uncertainty are the Australians because they keep reneging on agreed plans...

The last meeting in Singapore, barely 3 months ago,set out a calendar right up to 2025...and then a month later the Aussie's come up with something else!

It's this clown,Peter beatie,that's holding everything up...

PS...by reform he means he wants Australia to have more power

I think Beattie is a breath of fresh air. He is at least open to discussing the future of the game with fans and realises we have sat still for too long. So he stuffed a few team names up when he first started because he didn’t know where the “shire” was in nsw, who cares.
Yes, the Aussie contingent need to realise the sport isn’t about just them, but at least they are going to start bringing something to the table! The recent test against Tonga shows that they are willing to stop thinking about just themselves for once!

Im cautious of Beattie.

I mean, yes, this is correct. But I haven't seen much evidence yet of Australia to make any interactions with England or the RFL. I mean, if you step back, the money is in Europe and Britain. If you want to have successful, money making tour - we need a strong France and scond tier in Europe. That's not a knock against the Pacific, just hard economic fact. It's why PNG will struggle to ever make a true leap to 'Tier One', despite being a rugby league nation.

Beattie and Greenberg are pivoting hard to the Pacific. They perceive what role the 'NRL' can play in the Pacific, rather the role of 'rugby league'.

It begins. Brad Walter whipping up external noise in an “opinion” piece for Nrl.com...

https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/11/05...s-best-chance-for-australia-england-showdown/

I’m all for canning the pointless GB revival but throwing away the agreed calendar because some f**kwit at the NRL chucked in the Kangaroos rights for free in the latest TV negotiations, and signed off 20k match payments is ridiculous.

RLWC21 team want a big event in 2020 to drum up interest the year before the world cup. Unless the Roos are willing to come back in 2020 for a four nations then RFL should tell them to piss off. It’s bad enough they f**ked up RLWC2017 now they want to scupper the next one.

.,,oh sweet irony the all powerful NRL needs the RFL to make any money from internationals.

See this is where the Aussie's have cocked up...they want to tour here in 2019 instead on 2020....yet a few weeks ago they arranged this half arsed pacific cup for the end of next season too..

What the f**k do they want????

The only country screwing up the international calendar is Australia! Typical nrl arrogance that they think everything has to revolve around them. Screw them have a four nations next year with Tonga and png. Invite them to tour uk in 2020, if they say no play nz again in nz. Be a good bonding tour for England squad prior to rlwc2021.
