Warner
Harris
Smith
Patterson
Head
Wade
Paine
Cummins
Starc/Pattinson
Hazlewood
Lyon

Don't have a lot of confidence in Harris and Head having the technique to score runs in England, but they've shown far more at test level than Bancroft and Labuschagne. I didn't consider Burns or Khawaja as they're short of match practice.

No all rounder. Can't see many innings lasting over 100 overs so 5th bowler unlikely to be needed.

Can definitely see the argument for not playing Starc, but only if it's for Pattinson and not a plodder like Siddle.

agree

who we piss of Warner or Harris?
For a big decision like this, I propose we toss a coin and since it is such a big decision, go the extra mile and make it a best of three!

Alternatively we could use the Rock Paper Scissors method to decide. Once again, best of three.
Gotta get these things right afterall.

Bancroft was on the verge of being dropped before the sandpaper incident and hasn't done a whole lot to suggest he warrants re-admission to the team.
Wasn't Travis Head Australia's leading run scorer last summer? If you leave him out because you have questions over his technique then surely you leave Warner out too.

where is there talk of leaving Head out? I’d be stunned if he wasn’t in the squad.

Bancroft has at least 3 FC hundreds since his return.

Have you considered Warner hits more boundaries?, and will be booed relentlessly after each of those boundaries?

Bancroft was our leading run scorer in the SA series before that incident against a very good bowling attack. Not 100% sold on him but at least unlike many in this squad he bats well in these conditions
