The rest of our batsmen are a f**king disgrace and should hang their heads in shame. Had to simply survive and support Smith until later in the day when it naturally would've got easier what with the conditions and Anderson out

Absolutely pathetic from that they're so reliant on Smith to stand up time and time again. Take a bow Steven. One of the best back against the wall innings we've ever seen

Absolutely masterful from Smithy. At least we have a foothold in the match... if we bowl well.

Steve Smith, what a legend.

the rest of the top 6 you wouldn’t feed (well, maybe Travis Head)

Huge contribution from Siddle & Lyon too.

Wow.

Steve Smith is the 2nd greatest Test batsman of all time.

The numbers don't lie and can't be denied.
Dunno the exact order but he’s in a special group below the Don...

Losing Anderson is the other big story

Smiffy stuck some sandpaper fair up the Poms Jacksie’s, no wonder the merkins boo. Oh the pain!!! And their tears are the closest most of them have come to a tub in months.

I fell asleep at 8/150ish.

Smith...Siddle. ..oh my f**king god!!!

Smiffy...OH MY f**kING GOD!!!
Yeah I got to tea, I was hoping we would get to 200 and instead we nearly double the score. It’s game no on moles and with them down a bowler and them Merkins batting last it’s even Stevens. If someone had of stuck with Smithy we could of been 6 for over 300 at Stumps. Dumb merkins.

Undoubtedly only behind Bradman. Anyone saying otherwise is simply wrong
Pollock, Headley and Sutcliffe are the ones I think of who at least warrant consideration - the former two can't be blamed for having shortened careers, but there are others with lower averages too...

But sure, if you think it's Smith, I'm not saying you're wrong - just not convinced it's the exact science you seem to reckon it is

He's certainly #1 in test cricket atm... no debating that
