In all seriousness why was Bancroft put back in the team... he's as plod as Harris, Burns etc even Finchy... and a cheat... just seems weird... Davey can at least score stellar centuries before lunch on roads, not sure that makes up for being a complete merkin but at least there's something...

Was pondering the long suspensions CA handed down - I think Aussies should be proud of that - leadership, and a strong signal to players, something other countries wouldn't do... in Warner's case too little, too late... always going to be a blemish on Smith, but nobody's perfect and to be honest he's probably better off not being captain - he wasn't particularly good at it... what he might do in the next couple of years in his peak

Personally I’d have Khawaja opening and look for a new no.3

I’d be hesitant to move Smith, he seems to much prefer 4.

Not sure why, in the past you’d always have the best bat at 3.

He did fade away a bit last couple of Cup games though, woefull v South Africa

Not sure he can replace Pattinson for this test,

a lot of people in the media calling for Starc to bowl downhill at Lords, but on current form he'd need more than a downhill pitch

Haze would be a big step up, he can be tight but also take wickets
