England could say the same of Stokes. We would be looking at being whitewashed without him haha
Speaking of Ben Stokes and all-rounders what stats do you need to actually be classed as an all-rounder? in my mind guys like Stokes and Flintoff who average 30+ with the ball and low 30's with the bat means there equally ordinary at both things, why is this seen as an achievement?
Imran Khan,Keith Miller,Jacques Kallis and Gary Sobers are the only true all-rounders in cricket history bruh
P.S Kapil Dev and Ian Botham don't belong with the above 4 bruh
Best baleed dat
I can't think of a player who's actually been a true all rounder though. Someone that would get into any team on the basis of either bowling or batting - I'm thinking a guy who averages at least 45 and has a bowling below around 27-28.
All those guys listed are far better at one facet of the game than the other, which subsequently becomes what they're predominantly known for.
I would stay Stokes' bowling and batting are much closer, but the level of either those aren't that great to begin with, relative to those considered great.

That’s a very hard standard to live up to.
To produce those type of stats at both batting and bowling you’re talking about an absolute freak of an athlete. I doubt we’ll ever see a better all rounder than Kallis. He’s really the Bradman of all rounders.
Kallis and Sobers best batting all-rounders,Imran Khan and Keith Miller best bowling all-rounders

Shane Watson the best DRS all-rounder
