Is it true BankWest only has live screens in the men’s toilets and not the women’s?

I don’t know but if that’s the case, it’s hardly sexist if that’s what you’re implying. Men’s bathrooms, particularly at stadiums, are massive urinals along a blank wall. Women’s toilets are individual stalls. I think it’s quite clever if they’ve popped a tv on the wall so blokes can keep watching whilst they take a leak. It’s hardly practical to install a tv in every individual cubical in a women’s bathroom

Well that may be correct in reality but I heard the story from an angry female parra supporter.

They spend more time lined up outside cubicles than men do in front of urinals I’d say.

Many would argue the NRL is better on tv.
Whereas AFL is much better live.

Having been to both I wouldn't agree. AFL is so far away you end up watching half the game on big screen. I actually think the TV covergae of NRL does it a disservice. The constant close up shots fail to show how teams are positioning themselves offensively and defensively and that the game is actually more complex than it seems on TV.

I've been saying this for a while. Old games they never use to zoom in on the ruck anywhere near as closely. They should zoom in on the ball carrier then after contact zoom out much further than they do.

ok tim, how many sub 10k crowds does ANZ have in that time? take out the big events and that average dies in the ass

suburban grounds generally don't have the big event games to inflate averages
53. Out of 517 matches at the venue. 10%, not a huge amount.

Or if you want to look at it the other way, 464 matches with a crowd of 10k+, or 90%.

"Take out the big events" lol that's the point, those stadiums can host the big events. Suburban grounds can't.

Take out finals - which suburban grounds aren’t used for anyway.
So there is no point comparing them .

How many big events are left?
Anzac Day?

Anzac Day isn't played at ANZ lol

(except 2008, where it failed by comparison only drawing 21k)

You said “stadiums” ( plural ).
Anzac Day match is played at a stadium.
The specific question was to do with ANZ Stadium, I made a further comment about larger stadia in general, in response to Moffo's ridiculous comment about taking out big event games.

It is the point when discussing a regular round week to week football.
Nearly missed this, you know there's a quote function?

I think balance is important - as a code we need to increase familiarity and regularity, which the NRL's scheduling currently doesn't really allow for all that much (and seems unlikely to, tbh).

When it comes to venues that are used, I think as a game we need to be savvier, identify the games we just know aren't going to be blockbusters and find more suitable venues for them (e.g. Dogs-NQ at Belmore would've made more sense, although may not have looked that good either). But having said that, going back to the familiar/regular thing, the more matches played at the larger venues in regular slots the more people become familiar with them and it becomes the norm. It's worked well in Melbourne and while it's a different setup there, there's no reason we can't be looking at a long-term future where the lions share of games are played in Sydney at either Bankwest or SFS.

What’s moffo got to do with it?
I replied to your comment to the vaulting violinist.

You can’t count/compare finals because they are not played at suburban grounds.
So if they aren’t counted how many more “Big events” are there for normal club rounds?
Anzac Day is about the only one I can think of.
Which is a bit of unfair advantage for crowd figures for the roosters and Steelers.
It gets a shit load of free advertising that other games don’t.
But ey.... its a great game every year.
