Crowds figures for this weekend are going to smash NRL records. With two games to go, just over 185,000 supposedly different fans have attended games. The record total for a round of football was 200312 back in R1 in 2011.

Round 1 1999. 273k!

How do you know that?

If you showed up at the first game and did not leave for the second game you were included in the total for the second game, and the same if you stayed for the third game. If you look at the total for the second game tonight 37,521 and the third game, 41,612 anyone staying from the second game had to be included in the third game figures. It’s not like 37,000 left after game two and 41,000 walked in for game three. The total crowd figure for tonight was just under 92,000. Do you really think there is 92,000 different league fans in Brisbane who wanted to attend today?

I never said there was. I don’t know how many individuals attended today. Neither do you.

Trying hard to ignore the Trump bullshit in your signature, but it's worth noting that it's likely the third crowd of today, second of Friday and second of Sunday (together with Thu standalone), will be combined for the aggregate.

Don't assume it's just add all 8 crowds to create a bullshit figure until it happens.

I can see the argument for counting the attendance at each game but tickets sold is the more meaningful number for these events. I've attended a few double headers and they rarely seem packed, most people are just there for one of the two games and spend a fair bit of time out of their seats during the "bonus" one.

Well there were only about 20k at the Melbourne game at kickoff

So its clear that people walking out are not subtracted for the final game total

That doesn’t make any sense at all

If they going to quote and tally each games attendance

Then they need to take into account people leaving as well

Happy for the game day total

But to the add the 3 game totals together claiming that the 10-15k of people who left watched the last game is wrong

I’m not sure any code of football would ever bother to do whatever it was you just suggested. It’s just a bloody crowd figure after all

They aren't. Wait til the end of the round for an aggregate - I reckon it'll be GLD v CRO, plus MAN v BRI, plus MEL v PAR, plus SOU v NQL.
