2) Campbelltown- 6.5%
3) Penrith- 6.3%
4) Suth shire and Wollongong 5.5%
5) St George 4.4 %
6) northern Beaches 3.7%
7) Auckland 0.86%
8) Townsville 0.68%
9) Newcastle 0.45%
10) Gold Coast 0.18%
11) Brisbane 0.08%
12) Melbourne 0.04%
Thats all well and good but as others have pointed out (usually in defence of these clubs, when it suits), the fanbases of these clubs aren't just restricted to the named suburb.

For example, if Redcliffe or another suburban team were to get a license, would you of used all of Brisbane for the Broncos then just Redcliffe for the Dolphins? or divided the city in 2?

Using those figures you could argue that the Melbourne Storm only represent the 169,961 people living in the suburb of Melbourne, and Brisbane 9,460

But Melbourne and Brisbane do gather support city wide (helped by being 1 team cities), and if the Sydney clubs can only gather support from within their suburb, then they don't deserve a National Rugby League license... luckily most of them do, so I'd argue a more accurate (but still not 100% accurate) representation of your figures would be to dived Sydney's population by 9, or 8.5

It is easy to just look at the crowd figure without taking into account population.

Have they
Been busted for peptides?
self reported busting the cap?
Had the coach sacked Twice by the NRL?
Been accused of giving a player cancer?
Had no sponsors?
Had star player piss into own mouth and banned for ever?
Had star player glass girlfriend in face then blame flatmate?
Had star player get sacked for cocaine?
...ok that’s a yes but he was sacked by us first.
Had the entire team banned?
Have I missed anything?

If not
Then the cowboys have no excuse.
I've never seen a fan of their own club actively listing the many reasons why their club should be relocated, lol.

If we beat Titans we will sell out the stadium against St George and probably again against Canberra the next week on a Sunday arvo. It just makes sense. 30k stadium in Penrith is a no brainer. Geographically speaking alone it's needed.
Penrith does not need a 30k stadium or even a 25k stadium. Their average of 13k this year is proof.

13k with how we've gone this year and the weather we've had is great. If we had a stadium that provided more than 20% of the seats with cover from rain and we were in winning form we'd be averaging over 17-18k right now.

I heard somewhere that the AFL pay certain pubs in Sydney to prioritise AFL

Would not put that beyond them. I know of pubs that sponsor union clubs in Newcastle that put rugby league on the secondary channel whilst airing Super Union . This pub is owned by investors that are Melbourne based. They also put AFL on the nearest channel to where the union is on.

Which pub? The Cricketers Arms?

Penrith crowd history suggests not. The highest crowd average is 17k for both the 03 and 04 seasons, of which 03 was the premiership year. So history tells you need to win the comp to get anything near 18k, which shows that a new stadium unfortunately is not needed and why they won't get upgrades any time soon. Sorry.

Omott91 - you are way off the mark!
They had several sell outs over the past three seasons which I don’t think anyone else has. It is the biggest RL nursery which is still growing, with more clubs than some areas have teams. An upgraded stadium with more cover would give a significant increase to crowds.
Question- who do you follow?

Who do you expect to pay for it?

I can't see the government doing so and not should they. The other 3 stadiums are all for multiple tenants across multiple sports in strategic population and business centres.

They spent millions on Parramatta, Spotless and are going to spend a billion on ANZ. All within 5km of each other. Where is the logic in that. Penrith is 40 km away, has similar crowds to Parramatta, has more juniors, and deserves an upgraded stadium as much as Parramatta did.
It seems you need to either burn your stadium down like Parramatta did, or threaten to like WSW to get anything out west.

Maybe the LC could spend some of it sill gotten gains on it? I'm surprised they haven't tried to buy it from the council and redevelop sections at a time by now. Keep hearing how mega rich the Panthers club is, use some of it to improve the fan experience. NSW Govt wont invest significantly in a stadium they dont own.

Hang on when it suits the suburban club fans claim their fanbase is far and wide, then when it suits it is only drawing from a 20km radius. Which is it?

There exists an interest level that is far and away above what initial local population figures include. The reach of these Sydney and surrounding areas are massive due to the boom in the code that coincided with greater tv coverage of the 70/80&90s.When the Knights draw a crowd about 40% is made up of the opposing sides fans. (especially if they are longstanding Sydney based clubs).

I gave every team the same criteria
In fact that’s not true North Queensland only had to use Townsville population.
Warriors- Auckland.

Also raiders only have about 3.5% .
I forgot to put that in.

You panthers fans really need to stop pushing this wheelbarrow.

Bankwest will have over 700k patrons for sport and concerts in 2019.
Panthers stadium will have less then 140k patrons

ANZ is the middle of Sydney and the large event stadium, spotless is an oval.

Not hard to see why people don't see it your way.
