$20 mil for Princes Park (Carlton) to make it the "home of women's football"
$15 mil to assist in making more footy grounds across Victoria to be more female friendly
$13 mil to continue the Moorabbin Oval redevelopment (St Kilda's base)
$10 mil for Casey Fields (Cranbourne, also used by NRL VIC) and Whitten Oval (Footscray)
$2 mil for Victoria Park (Collingwood) infrastructure upgrades

https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/supporting-community-sport-from-the-suburbs-to-the-g/

The point wasn't how much they were putting in but that a government has actually thrown some money at a range of local venues to make improvements, which seem to be few and far between in NSW recently.

They will put small amounts of money onto community facilities that benefit the community. Not large amounts into professional sports clubs grounds that dont offer any community benefit. Reality is these grounds need $100mill plus spending on them to make them half decent, Brookvale double that.

Penrith is actually pretty good. Not much needed there

Is there much roof cover? It looks like most of it is not covered? Also capacity is limited to 20k comfortably isnt it? NRL should be aiming for 25k capacities, again boost the big games numbers to make up for the small games.

Why? If they are getting 20k every week that is a fantastic outcome. You just make up numbers to put them a bit out of reach.

It's called having aspirations. Think 20 years ahead not 2.
Any club limiting itself to a 20k ceiling will find the future bleak.

Which is kind of my point. These grounds will no doubt get some support from governments in the future, but not to bring them up to an acceptable long-term NRL standard. Some clubs will have tough decisions to make.

Didn't read that right did you!? Cheaper tickets on Thursdays should be marketed and well publicised for Thursday games. That's it ! Nothing else stated.

So two clubs with ''widespread notoriety'' and ''worldwide recognition'' need to dump the price of their tickets to get a crowd of more than 10k?

WSS is always there is any games become too popular for Penrith. There was going to be another stand build a few seasons ago but pipes didn't allow it.

Once the other building is done at the club and loans are paid off the club could afford an upgrade itself if needed

Might as well chuck it in as play out of Parramatta.

That is the issue. Expand our catchment out to Bathurst. Can you then expect those fans to go further to games?

If the 20k at Penrith turns into 15k at Parra I say not worth it. Just keep updating Penrith as you need too

What about the experiment of teams playing out of oversized stadiums with zero atmosphere?

In case you haven’t noticed people don’t seem to be flocking to that either.

I agree that ANZ is terrible, but doesnt make make the suburban grounds good...

30k seaters with decent facilities in a well connected location clearly trumps all of them.

All clubs need to do is join together and guarantee +25 games a year. The gov has made it clear they will fund stadiums with several home teams

That would be great but I think the majority of parra fans are waiting for the new stadium. There were not a lot at last Sunday’s game.

Yep. Fair call. Think it's been a fair while since a winning streak? So with that and an opposition being the defending premiers might get the Eels fans out there.
