So Brisbane will end up paying compensation for Seibold despite this dragging on into the pre-season but we got away with paying nothing for Cleary despite it ending before pre-season began.

Elite club.

You would think all this drama and delay of pre season training would have a detrimental effect on the Rabbits and Broncos seasons.

If I was a Bronco;s fan I would be bemused by this mess, if I was a Souths fan I would be greatly concerned about whether Wayne Bennett is the right man for the job. Wayne’s conduct during this whole affair has been highly questionable and I think that is being kind.

This is why we needed it sorted by pre season... Imagine 2 years of that garbage
Would have had a worse effect on Tigers.

We had a caretaker coach the players loved, who was fine with being a temporary coach and the players all knew where the club was planning to go in the future. We didnt need it to happen now despite it being a good thing for us. I dont see our retention of players going any differently and ofcourse we haven't recruited anyone who is in a position to care about our NRL coach. Immediate was better for us. But we were in a position where we could wait.

Tigers needed it resolved. They had far more uncertainty in their future. Although to be honest anyone signibg with or staying at Tigers would be foolish to think the same coach will be there when they end their contracts. Ivan would have ended up like Potter and Taylor unless he took them to the finals. Which is hard to imagine he could get anymore out of that roster then he did.

The tigers just needed Ivan out of the way to sign Madge. It was always going to be sorted the tigers had no choice.

That Tigers team won't make the 8. We should be aiming the win the comp. We have enough pressure as it is without adding more to it

You know how this plays out Every loss for them is Ivan and Gus' fault.

Every presser we do the question would come up. Use of players becomes an issue too. It needed to be sorted and thankfully was.

What if they signed Bennett though? He'd be digging his heels in at the Broncs. For whatever reason it is sorted and that is a good thing

They signed a coach that wanted to start asap therefore it was always going to be resolved
fairly quickly. The Bennett situation might of been different had he signed with the tigers, I doubt they sign him without knowing he would be available for 2019. He signed with souths for 2020 initially if you recall, the tigers would not have don't that.

I'm noticing in all the pics Egan is featured a lot but not Katoa. Hope it's a sign he's top pick next year for hooker.

Honestly at this stage neither hooker has earned the right to be our starting hooker. If we had decided now that either was our #1 hooker i would be disappointed. Should be a shootout that's not decided until after the trials

same with the make up of our bench and I am sure someone we think is safe won't be...Always the case with new coaches
