Did you see the interview he did on channel 9? That should answer the question.

Gus is also on the wrong side of public opinion re; sacking hook (outside this form), so if hook was to go elsewhere & succeed (not saying he would) he'd look like a right idiot.

How would Gus look like an idiot if Hook had success elsewhere. That’s plain silly talk.

I also cannot see how Gus could prevent him, even if he wanted too.

It is on the public record that Griffin walked out.

He was sacked. The board was already talking to his replacement so Gus called him in and told him he won’t be needed beyond 2018. We literally told him he doesn’t have a job here and is getting replaced.

You blokes are f**king kidding yourselves.

Very hard to not be on the wrong side of public opinion when the biggest media outlet in Australia is literally using North Korea propaganda tactics to appease their viewer base comprised of 40 something year old tradies because they want confirmation bias that Gus "is a f**kn biasd dog dat neva tipsh me teem in da footie".

Buzz is a credible source when Martie likes what he’s saying.

Beyond 2018 yes. He walked for the rest of 2018 though as every report on the sacking has said

So in sport no one has ever gone to a rival team to purely share secrets?

What are you talking about? lol what the f**k. You are talking shit. It’s illegal. He didn’t quit, we broke the contract, so we cannot stop him taking another nrl job. Get that through your head.

He wasn't sacked for last season. He quit when told he wouldn't be kept for 2019.

That changes things Atleast for the last year final series anyway

Who ever mentioned him getting another nrl job for 2018 finals series? Certainly not me, It doesn't change my point at all, you are just waffling on again moving the goal posts desperately trying to appear like you could have some kind of point.

Well you seem so adament they couldn't stop him. I was merely pointing out Atleast for last year they could given how it went down.

Anyway he is gone won't be coaching NRL again

The only way I can see Griffin being prohibited from coaching in the NRL is if he agreed to it as a term of his termination agreement in order to achieve a full or higher payout amount. Effectively, you pay me my 2019 & 2020 salary under the contract and I won't coach in the NRL. Given he likely didn't have anyone knocking his door down, it would appear to be an astute negotiation.

Seems to be a lot of discussion/arguing over something none of us have a f**king clue about.

I literally just had to clarify he was actually sacked and didn't just walk away on his own decision.

Not everything is Black and white

From here: https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/08/06...h-anthony-griffin-four-weeks-out-from-finals/

As revealed by NRL.com on Monday afternoon, the Panthers notified Griffin on Monday that his services would not be required beyond the end of this season despite being contracted until the end of 2020.

Griffin in turn walked away from the job, leaving assistant coach Cameron Ciraldo as the caretaker coach for the rest of the season.

From Channel 9 who made their feelings on hook clear

https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/nrl-an...f-finals/9409e280-646f-4bc9-8764-264264d9c95d

Griffin's departure was confirmed by Panthers CEO Brian Fletcher in a statement released on Monday Afternoon.

“There has been much speculation and rumours about the club and head coach Anthony Griffin over the last few weeks."

“After discussions with Anthony Griffin it is time to end that speculation. By mutual agreement, the club and Anthony have agreed to part ways, effective immediately."

No one knows what talks took place for it to be a mutural agreement.

Hook would want all his money. The club wouldn't want Hook going to other teams the media spilling secrets right on finals eve.

That is the grey here. The timing made it even more strange situation

Its pretty simple and straight forward actually.

"Panthers notified Griffin on Monday that his services would not be required beyond the end of this season"

That is Gus sacking him. He was sacked, that was the first thing that happened( well besides the board member talking to Ivan). Everything else is just media spin and by the club, Hook and the actual media.

The main thing is that he's gone but its a shame Gus wasn't sacked over this disaster. The bloke has become very erratic

I think he still is a net positive for the club, I'd not want to lose him yet, we need to put it together on the field before he goes. There have been some bad decisions but the positive changes at the club since he came back far outweigh the negative things that have happened. He has made us relevant again, he has us signing current internationals and given us more buying power than we have ever had. We lose a lot of that instantly if he goes without us being a force on the field.

Beyond this season....there was still 6 games to go. which he didn't coach by his choice. it isn't as straight forward as you will like it too be
