2019 Jerseys/Logos/Sponsorships

Crown has been there major sponsor for a time, so if a casino group has drawn the line at cost then thats a bit odd. And the storm "brand" in melbourne is actually quite strong from what i see and hear (im in melbourne for work most weeks).

It may be just that Crown have taken a different path and withdrawn, seems most likely. And I'd also suggest that they are basically getting the jersey out jn the public view for the "advertise your business here" angle. Promoting the real estate.

I honestly think that there will be a major on the front soon enough. in negotiation etc. couldnt fathom them struggling for interest. But..

Begs the question - and I've never thought too much of it before but what would the cost of a major sponsorship be per season? Top tier teams, average etc?

So many sides change year on year and I wander what the contributing factors are, ie major sponsor withdraws, the club goes to auction for the highest bidder, a bit of both, other...?
Crown flagged that it would be pulling out of sponsorship nearly 2 years ago, only now have they followed through.

Both Melbourne and Souths probably rate their front of jersey property as a 'premium' space and have likely taken their time looking for a certain price point rather than accepting a lowball offer.

I note comparisons between Melbourne and Cronulla going into a season without a jersey sponsor, but it's worth noting Melbourne already have a healthy stable of sponsors across the rest of their kit - Fuso, Suzuki, Hostplus, TigerAir and so on. Cronulla only appear to have apparel partner xBlades.

I'd say storm will try and upgrade Suzuki to front of Jersey for $400k extra a year
I think Suzuki is very happy with their position on the sleeves. Their logo has gotten progressively larger year on year and with the way their logo is presented, the S is as big, if not bigger than any other sponsor logo on the jersey.

They've been a Storm sponsor for a good 10-15 years from memory. If they were going to ascend to front of jersey they've had done so by now. From memory Jayco replaces MEBank after the cap scandal and Suzuki remained as a secondary jersey partner.

This jersey is now listed as the "alternate" jersey for 2019, so possibly a new heritage this year for Parra

In 2010 Suzuki stayed on the sleeves and their wordmark was heat-pressed over the Host Plus logo above the number on the back.

Anyone have photos? It is geo-blocked
It's just footage of a crane driving into the grandstand, lifting the panther off, they then peel off the old one and replace it with a new one and put it back up.

I sort of like a cleanskin jersey for the Storm. I think it suits them as they've shown in previous years.

As good as this jersey is, it probably needs a set of alternate gold shorts and/or socks to be worn against predominantly royal/navy teams.

Parra alternate sponsor integration for 2019 is on point.
It would be even better if they didn't have the sleeve stripes and sponsor in the same spot. Shifting the sponsor up a couple of stripe widths, then making the cuff gold, and shifting the blue stripes down to touch the cuff might work.

The new NRL logo looks great against the solid blackground
It does, but its must less appealing in most other jersey applications so far.
Baffled how this jersey is so good. H & A are fails
The home and away are fine other than the dumb sponsor boxes imo. However, there is so much more value in their 80's brand that I can't ever see them travelling too far from those looks long term again. They should be focusing on their three iconic designs of the 1980's with some variations for the home/away, and reserving other past designs for alternates.

So much effort for such minor change
A few hours work for some crane operators and couple of vinyl wrap guys. The colour change brings it into line with the rest of the Panthers Group venues (of which there are many), not to mention this years jersey. The logo will be seen by millions this season. I believe it was worth the effort.

it still looks like a bear logo to me. The face angle is too ‘front on’ for my liking. One of the Puletua brothers designed it yeah?
