a few weeks ago NQ put a tweet up about the last ever game at 1300’s, will be against the dogs which is kinda poetic because the first ever game there was against the dogs. I tweeted this

the current stand in CEO Jeff Reibel ‘liked’ it....... I’m praying to god they do it for the last home game........and then in 2020 go back to it full time at the new stadium.......

Things that have annoyed some of us this year:
View attachment 25022
These things are quite minor and overall it has been the best set of jerseys in a very long time. We can't get complacent though and continue pulling them up on these things. As we have clearly seen this year, they do take on board things discussed in here.
I don't know that we really consider nib using their logo as a design feature or placement that annoys.

The other things are all changeable - nib's brand isn't.

not suggesting the logo needs changing...just needs to be lowered slightly so that its not covering the jersey design.

Nope, that looks off-kilter. logos mid-stripes actually look right.
True, but in my opinion, taking into account the 4 factors below, having the stripes go through the badges just looks too busy.

- NRL logo being white
- Manly changing to solid stripes
- Manly changing their collar to white
- Sternum sponsor in white text

It was ok with the previous NRL logo:

I liked the 1982 jersey as it had good balance. It gave the badges and the sponsor clean space but also had the shoulder stripes to complete the jersey.

The 2011 Jersey tried to do this...they gave the badges the clean space but they didn't have shoulder stripes so imo it looked to bare (the white side panels didn't do that jersey any favours either).

In this photo I have put stripes on the shoulders of Brent Kite's jersey and made his collar white all around. Do these changes and change the side panels to maroon and you got yourself a decent looking jersey.

In my opinion best looking jerseys out of the ones that have been released are the ones that have the new NRL logo on a single coloured background.

Inconsistent sized Vees, it’s f**ked mate.
If you need the Vee just reverse it, jeez.

It is inconsistent to accommodate the sponsor without needing a billboard behind it. If they hadn't made the red middle section larger you'd be complaining that the sponsor interfered with the pattern. This chevroned-butcher's-stripes design is only the second Dragons alternate jersey I've ever bought The first was the old Steelers design that we used in 2011-2013.

Lets remind ourselves of just how crappy the alternate Dragons jerseys have been since the NRL made them mandatory in 2001-

Dragons Alternate Jerseys 2001-2018.gif
The 2001-2005 "Blood & Bandages" jersey from Classic was modeled on the original 1921 St George strip and just pissed off the Illawarra fans. It meant we now had two jerseys and they were both traditional St George designs. It was the equivalent of the Wests Tigers playing in orange with a double black V at home and orange and black stripes away. Oh, and look at that ridiculous Nehru collar.

We dumped Classic for Adidas in 2006 and for the next two years our alternate was essentially just a copy of the Liverpool soccer team's jersey. The design had nothing to do with St George Illawarra and was essentially just an expression of Adidas' corporate identity. In 2008 Adidas inflicted a new monstrosity on us, which also managed to incorporate their precious triple-stripes but also included an unconvincing flame design on the sides.

In 2010 Reebok assaulted us with the "Wolverine" jersey, so-named because it featured claw marks. Mercifully, it only lasted one season. Thankfully, 2010 also saw Reebok produce a Steelers-based heritage jersey and the Dragons finally did the right thing in 2011 and adopted it as the alternate for the next three years.

But then in 2014 ISC replaced it with a red jersey featuring a single butcher's-stripe at chest level, diagonally defaced on the team badge side. It looked stupid, especially with a black collar and hemlines. 2016 saw a red jersey sublimated with a black Chinese dragon that didn't really fit in with the English mythological "St George and the Dragon" motif that is the club identity.

Compared with what has been inflicted on us by Classic, Adidas, Reebok and ISC over the years, I think X-blades first offering looks great. The angling of the butcher's stripes to turn them into shallow chevrons makes it look modern, sharp and strong, accentuating a player's broad shoulders. While I'll always think that the Steelers design should be our permanent alternate strip, I have to admit that X-blades have given us what is easily the best looking alternate jersey we've ever had.

Very nice summary :clap_tone1:

I'm struggling to remember what the shorts looked like. Did they have scratches too?

Nice and clean training gear, Roosters really should implement that rooster logo into a new club logo..
Best thing about that training gear is that it doesn't look like a wearable billboard, Steggles must pay a bomb to be the only sponsor on the gear?

All teams should have a company that slaughters their mascot-
super butcher / Rabbitohs
pal dog food / broncos
