I'm a Cody fan but anyone who thought having Cody, a horrendously out of form Cleary and Wighton as your halves options couldn't have expected much more than what we got.

Interesting to see what the options are now with a MIA HIA Keary, a brokeback Reynolds and in and out Pearce and Maloney.
Adam Reynolds must be the halfback and his job is to kick. The real problem is NSW don’t really have a dominant half that can take control of an Origin game. Not since Daley, Fittler and Johns has this been the case.

Reynolds is out indefinitely with a broken back.

It's in the opinion of the ref, so it is impossible for a penalty try call to be incorrect.

I'll explain the post for you buddy.
Going by the rule there can be no such thing as a penalty try.
It is impossible to ever be 100% sure.
A tornado, asteroid, sniper even a crocodile attack could prevent a player from ground the ball however small the possibility.
I am 100% sure however that if the opposition was in that position the try would have been awarded.
Now I'm concerned Latrell will get bumped 30 out chasing a kick and a penalty try will follow just because the dipshit in the bunker is 100% sure. It was complete bullshit pure and simple

They changed the rule a couple of years ago, Champ. That is why you are seeing them a lot more now.

The rule now is the ref awards the penalty try if he thinks a try would have been scored. Doesn't have to be 100%, just more likely than not. That's why they can never be wrong, the rule is written that way.

Just brought myself to finally watch the game.

NSW left side defence was very poor. NSW halves needed to manage the game much better. Walker was a passenger and Cleary did nothing to lift his team. Although at half time NSW were up 8-0 QLD were well on top and were unlucky not to convert their chances. We gave up way to many metres to just about every QLD carry. Cook and Tedesco were great. In the 2nd half NSW looked completely lost when they couldn't match QLD when they lifted. For a side that was supposed to be fast we got slowed down to a crawl. Very disappointing that our bench had no impact at all. Every interchange felt like a panic move more than anything else.

QLD's gameplan was simple and exploited NSW's weaknesses perfectly. Their forwards just bashed and barged their way giving their backs the space they needed and were brutal in defence. Their bench was outstanding and pretty much carried through what the starting forwards did. QLD's kicking game was great. Gagai is a freak and Oates had his gloves on today, QLD should be very proud of their performance and deserved to win that game 13+.

I thought the Mitchell sin binning should have been a penalty try, but probably the Mitchell sin binning hurts NSW more anyway and there were a couple of wrong calls or missed calls but I don't think they were game changers or real clangers.

IF NSW are to save the series they have a huge task ahead of them, but QLD showed that they will be very tough to beat.

It was more likely than not he was going to score which in turn makes the decision incorrect
